The Thule Peloton Fork Mount Rooftop Bicycle Carrier is a premium clamp-style fork mounted carrier with versatile design that securely holds the fork blades of your bike. It is designed to provide maximum stability and protection via a variety of features including; a rugged plastic head, a corrosion resistant double-wall aluminum wheel tray and a easy-to-use clamp that maintains pressure on front fork dropouts. Additional features include: an adjustable rear wheel strap, compatibility with wheelbases up to 48 inches and tire widths up to 2.6 inches and more. The world's best-selling fork mount carrier. View larger. The Best-selling Fork Mount Carrier The Thule 517 Peloton Fork Mount Rooftop Bicycle Carrier is the world's number-one selling fork mount, and it just got a make over. From road bikes, to disc brakes and fat tires, the Peloton is up to the challenge. The Peloton fork-mount rooftop bike carrier fits all disc and suspension combinations with standard 9mm axles. This bike carrier has a dual-lock design that locks both the bike to the carrier, and the carrier to your rooftop rack. The wheel tray fits tires up to 2.6 inches wide with high-profile rims, and carries bicycles with wheelbases up to 48 inches. This system fits both Thule and Yakima load bars, and is Thule One-Key system compatible so you can easily keep it locked and secure without a bunch of extra keys. Please note, locks are not included. Installation and Use The Peloton comes nearly fully assembled, requiring only the included hex wrench and your own two hands to easily assemble in little time. Installation begins with the combined Peloton head assembly / wheel tray which provide the base for securing a bike's forks (head assembly) and a stable mounting platform for you back tire (wheel tray). Following some simple preassembly to these components, users have just to attach the head section and wheel tray to their rack's load bar with the hex wrench and included knobs as well as the included mounting plates and other hardware that allows for square or rounded cross bars. The Peloton is now ready for your bike. Clamp with adjustment dial provides the perfect hold for fork dropouts. View larger. Corrosion resistant double-wall aluminum tray provides maximum strength and rigidity. View larger. To load your bike remove the front wheel and stow it in your vehicle. Next, open the head assembly cover/clamp exposing the pressure dial. Loosening and/or tightening this dial creates initial space along the skewer running through the head assembly that your front fork's dropouts connect to. Now, place your bike's fork dropouts onto the skewer ends evenly on both sides. Adjust the pressure dial to ensure a firm, but not overly tight hold on your dropouts, then close the cover/clamp partially. Correct clamping pressure occurs automatically when half way down the cover/clamp's arc you feel resistance. If you feel this, everything should be aligned correctly and you can fully close the cover/clamp. If not, repeat for the best results. At this point Peloton owners who have opted for a One-Key lock, sold separately and installed into the top of the head assembly, can lock their bike to the carrier and the carrier to the rack simultaneously. A ratcheting wheel strap is provided to secure the rear wheel to the wheel tray and includes an adapter for use with road bike wheels. To remove your bike simply remove the wheel strap you installed, unlock the lock on the head assembly (if installed), lift the cover/clamp and remove your bike. Key Features Versatile design fits most disc brake and suspension combinations with standard 9mm axles. Ratcheting wheel strap quickly secures back wheel to tray. Corrosion resistant double-wall aluminum tray provides maximum strength and rigidity. Carries bikes with wheelbases up to 48 inches and tire widths up to 2.6 inches. Even works with high profile rims. 1 One-Key lock cylinder (sold separately) locks the bike to carrier and carrier to rack. Fits Thule rack systems or other round bars. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.

Bar Aero Brake

Is your PC slowing down? Or maybe it crashing more and more, Well if that's the case it just might because your PC is suffering old age! Yes that's right just like people PCs suffer from the aging process too.

But there's good news

But unlike people you can actually turn back the aging process and bring your beloved PC back to life. All it takes is a couple of easy to follow tips to ignite your PC's performance to full speed again.

Just follow these easy to follow steps:

Even when your computer's sat there doing nothing it could be running at least 50 programs! These are programs that a munching away at your poor old CPU and not to mention having a right good go at your memory as well. The reason for this is because over time the more stuff you install the more crap that builds up and even if you don't even use that program, there's a damn good chance that it's running in the background.

System configuration utility

To see what I mean hit CTRL +ALT + DELETE then press the processes tab. It will show you how many processes that are running in the background.

1. To solve this little dilemma just go the Start or Run for XP owners, and type MSCONFIG.

2. The System configuration will appear and from in there go to the STARTUP tab.

3. Once you've selected the STARTUP tab you'll be presented all the programs that are running in the background of your PC. What I would recommend is turning everything off apart from your anti virus.

If you do see anything what you do want on for example MSN massager by all means keep it on but the more you have running in the background the more it'll sap your PC's performance and will also affect you're your Boot times as well.

Now still hanging around in the System Configuration Utility, go to the second tab called SERVICES and go to and untick the HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES. We've got to do this (unless you're a bit more experienced) because if you go and turn one of Microsoft's services you could just mess your entire PC up and we don't want that do we.

System configuration utility part 2

Once you've unticked the box you should be just left with all the non Microsoft services.

once again I would recommend to turn them all off but the anti viruses services. Once you've decided what and what not gets the chop click apply and you're done.

Depending on which OS (operating system) your using, this could make or brake it. If your using Windows Vista? I would recommend turning some the visual effects of especially on the lower end systems. However if your using XP, the performance will be less impressive but I believe every ounce of performance is crucial. Besides, you won't even notice half of these switched of anyway.

Performance Options

Now as much as I would love to tell you how to get to these options, the ways to get there are very different when compared to Vista and XP. So a way around this (and probably a cop out as well) I'll just tell the vista owners to type in PERFORMANCE into the search bar, select PERFORMANCE INFORMATION AND TOOLS and click ADJUST VISUAL EFFECTS and you'll find your way there.

For XP owners read on:

1. Go to Start, Control Panel and select PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE.

2. Then ADJUST VISUAL EFFECTS you should find yourself there.

Now I would recommend turning them all off barring the last one. The last one keeps the modern Windows feel which I personally like but hay, everyone's different.

A fast Hardrive is a empty hardrive. So if you've got an hardrive full to the brim, delete the programs and games you don't need to speed up your Hardrive and watch those boot times fly!

Uninstalling

Tip: If you're a gamer (like me) What you can do is save the save game file and uninstall the full game. This way you can get the wanted gigs of space back but not lose your place on Crysis. Cool eh.

Now there's hundreds of other tips I wanted to share with you but I wanted to keep this article as short as possible to prevent you been bord to death. but the ver last thing I would do to my PC once I finish optimizing it is to defrag it.

Defragging

Now your probably thinking that yes I already know that James. But what I would recommend doing is using a different defragger especially if your using the dreaded Vista defragged.

Now as you've probably gathered, I can't stand Vista's defragger, I think it's actually a step backwards, not a step forward. But what really annoys me about it is that you have no idea how long it will takes and how defragmented your hardrive is.

But don't worry, because I'm going to show you to download a much better one that Vista's own shoddy attempt. Auslogics Disk defragger is its name and I think you'll find it quick and easy to use and it seems to do quite a good job as well.

And another thing.. It's completely free to download as well. Here's the link...

Thanks for reading my article and I really hope it helped you out. If you visit my site now I'm currently giving a "leaked chapter" of my full book away absolutely free. You'll learn all sorts of helpful tips like how speed up your PC, how to get all the software you'll ever need without buying it and loads more.

Check it out below.

How speed up Windows Vista

Cogne's Winter Wonderland

As the mother of young children, I have fantasized about the perfect winter get-away. My children, now 8 and 10, are fairly independent, but winter activities, be it skiing or sledding, inevitably require extra effort on the part of parents to assist. Socks pulled up, pants leg down, snow pants up, inner pant leg back up, so pull it down, left ski boot on, right ski boot on, left one hurts, left one off -- Add to that the necessity of driving from hotel to ski rental shop, a shuttle to the slopes and back again, and a "relaxing" winter family vacation becomes nothing more than a different kind of work.

Imagine instead a gracious manor house in a valley amidst the towering mountains of Valle ‘d'Aosta, Italy which just happens to have won the 2006 Spa Trophy awarded by Relais Chateau. Imagine further that this hotel overlooks a parco neve (snow park) complete with cross-country trails, small downhill course and tubing with roullez tappez (electric side-walk) to carry you back up the hill, a trampoline and lounge chairs on the snow, warmed by the sun's rays (sunglasses and sunscreen a must). If you dare, imagine further that three steps from the hotel and the park is a ski rental at about nine Euros (12 U.S.) a day, and a five minute walk down the road, a chairlift for more advanced skiers at about 10 Euro a day (13 US). Tired kids? Throw their skis in the hotels shed for a while (every room has its' own locker) and warm up inside with a cup of tea or hot chocolate in front of a noce carved fireplace.

Sound like a fantasy? Such a place really exists at the HOTEL BELLEVUE and it's not located in a fabricated 1980s ski village that sprang up overnight. It exists in Cogne, an 11th century Italian mountain village at 1534 meters altitude. It lies within the border of the National Park "Gran Paradiso," designated as such in 1922 for its beauty and unique fogliage and fauna. The hotel itself has so many benefits for families, it is difficult to know where to start. The spa area with its pool and Jacuzzi with recliners and hydro- massage is enjoyable for all but the smallest visitors. As for particular spa treatments, they are for the enjoyment of Mom and Dad, while smaller visitors enjoy the Children's Playroom which contains authentic desks from A 19th century school house, wooden toys, bouncing balls, a puppet theater, legos and other surprises. Next door to this room is a family movie theater for evening viewing. The hotel also runs three restaurants -- one with a Michelen Star. We really enjoyed a gastronomic evening of "family fondue" at the Bar à Fromage in front of a roaring fire. At La Brassierie du Bon Bec, we had La
Braserade where "braciere" was put on our table, with sausages, potatoes and Reblochon cheese to be melted. At the end of the dish, crepes suzettes are made directly on the braciere. The loving hand four generations of the Jeantet-Roullet family is evident in every nook and cranny of this family-owned hotel. No where have I seen such a combination of rustic charm and sophisticated elegance.

But the fun does not stop at the doors of the hotel. The aero club Valle D'Aosta will take you flying, gliding or parachuting over and around Monte Bianco/Mont Blanc. A horse drawn sled will also take you for a memorable ride through the snowy valley of Valnontey. Centro di Turismo Equestre "Le Traineau" +39 333 314 7248. We opted to spend our non-sking, non-spa time training to become the leader of a dog sled team with Signor Genta. The kids were safely tucked inside a dog sled and team lead by a professional. I was given my own sled, some instruction, and off I went, the leader of my own team. Although thrilling, I felt like I was on some wild ride at Disney where the brakes malfunctioned. It was great fun, but is definitely for those of you who find yourself in excellent physical shape (I am not, unfortunately, in this sector of the population) and who like a good thrill (I am at least part of the second group). Sled dogs, I learned, really like to pull, the faster the better, and it takes good balance and strength to keep WITH the sled. Next time, I'd opt for a "kid" seat, tucked away in a toasty sled, letting the professionals do all the work, listening to the snow swish by, taking in the scenery and the passion of the dogs whisking me through a field of white powder.

Would Trek parts fit on a different brand bike? Say a Jamis?

i was thinking of getting a Jamis Komodo, and customizing it with trek brakes, wheels, tires, and maybe even some aero bars. i have concerns as too whether the aero bars would be compatible with the bike.

Go to the Jamis web site and look at the components on that bike and then go to the Trek site and look at the components on it. You will find most bikes use the same manufacturers for the components.
