It has everything to do with condition.
Even the slightest mark or wear or change from original on the bike reduces the value precipitiously. For example, different tires might reduce the value 10 to 15% while a scratched decal might reduce it 25%. A split seam in the saddle might cut the value of the bike 30%.
For example, I have a couple of Yamaha Moto Bikes... these are OLD school BMX. Anyway, these bicycles were notorious for snapping the rear suspension studs off the frame which were welded on. The only ways to correct this is to drill out the old stud and insert a bolt through the frame to hold the shock or to weld on a new stud. This NECESSARY repair typically cuts the value of the bike in half, so an ultra rare BMX that was worth $1200 in perfect shape now is only worth $600. Even a reupholstered saddle might cut the value 5-10%.
So, take a close look at the bike. Original Haros have a value of around $300 to $500, then take deductions from there and remember- what you might consider perfect might not be what a collector might think.
