The Leatherman Micra is a wonderful choice as groomsmen gifts for your wedding. Leatherman products are sturdy and come with an amazing 25 year warranty. Talk about standing behind your product.
The Micra has a good feel when you are holding it in its closed state. All the edges are smooth and rounded. There are no sharp edges to hurt your hand or make it snag on your pocket threads. When you partially open it, into the shape of a "T" you see that on the back there is a ruler in centimeters (up to 12 cm) and inches (up to 5 in). This would allow you a good measuring device if you are in the field and need a quick measurement. When closed it is only 2 1/2" long. This makes it a good size for keeping on your key chain or in your pocket to have it ready for action.
Once you open the Micra tool into its ready-to-use position, the scissors are ready to start snipping. They are sharp and a small tension bar gives a little resistance when you're squeezing them closed to start cutting for a sure feel.
A key ring allows you to fasten a string to this tool if you want to hang it somewhere so it doesn't disappear. There's a nail file with a curved tip for cleaning your nails. There's also a flat head screwdriver and small knife included. A fine screwdriver tip and bottle opener combination item comes in handy if you need to work on glasses or pop open a brew. There is also a set of tweezers for removing splinters and a modified flat tip screwdriver tool that is marked "For Phillips" so apparently this will work for a Phillips head screw.
Engraved Leatherman Micras make good groomsmen gifts because they are priced at $30. Engraving is included at this price. Most wedding attendant gifts are personalized for that special touch when saying thank you to your groomsmen. A gift item means more when you take the time to have someone's name or initials inscribed on it.
Lisa Gunther is a groomsmen gifts expert. Gunther Gifts is the perfect place to select engraved Leatherman: Leatherman Micras for $30. Affordable groomsmen gifts offered at Gunther Gifts.
The Complete Guide to Buying a Used Bicycle
If you are looking to buy a bicycle, consider buying second-hand bikes. They can save you plenty of money and yet get the best deal out of your money. Of course, buying new bikes will give you zero worries. But some people do like the challenge of finding a used bike to buy. A trash belonging to someone else might be a treasure that belongs to you.
Preparation
You must do your homework well. Knowing you will be buying used bikes, you must be more well-prepared than when buying a new one. If you are a beginner, it is most recommended that you get an friend who is experienced in bicycles to come along with you.
Where to look?
You should look at newspapers for classifieds and advertisements. Otherwise, you can simply spread it by word of mouth. Sometimes, you will find people who have just bought their expensive bikes months ago and now want to sell them off, due to lost interest. This is the best advantage when buying used bikes.
How to check the bike?
1) Check its paint. See whether it has been deliberately touched-up to look like new. This can uncover the real age of the bicycle.
2) You must always ride the bike to test it. If the owner does not let you, then something bad is up.
3) Shift the gears and check for the quality of the derailleurs. Sometimes, shifters can also wear out. Feel the shifter with your fingers and if you feel there is any more than few millimetres of empty space movement, it means that wear has occurred.
4) Examine the chain rings. See it from above. If all of the teeth look the same, then it is a fine chain ring.
5) Also check the cogs for obvious bents.
6) For checking the hub, carry the bike and put it in an upside down position. See if the hub moves unnecessarily. If it is, chances are it is worn out.
7) Rotate the wheels and see if they spin without sounds. See if the rim and brake pads collide or not. If they do, this means that the rim is bent already.
Last of all, check the bottom bracket. De-attach the chain rings (front part) so that the crank can rotate freely. Move it from side to side. If they do not slide from side to side, it is fine.

Any good ideas for reusing/recycling old bicycles?
I pulled an old road bike frame from a skip the other day, and have a couple of other lying about. The rear triangle and drop outs are bent, and the components and frame are pretty rubbish. Any interesting ideas for what it could be turned into? It seems like such a waste to chuck it completely! Decorative, sculptural? Functional? I was going to hack it up for tubing, already broke up and cleaned the chain and turned it into bracelets for a couple of folks. And the chain rings and cranks and forks? Otherwise it'll just get chucked again. Maybe in more pieces! Thanks
Thanks! There is a free workshop nearby which takes donations. But given that the frame is actually damaged, aside from straight re-use whether there are any unusual ideas for alternative uses for that much metal and bearings and things
Use the wheels for a wind mill or a wind turbine and generate some power. Try this site for great ideas. You can make carts and other things.
