Most of the aches and pains coming from riding is from not being really comfortable on your bike.
While this can come from a variety of reasons the main one is from handlebar position. This is not always that obvious because riders tend to adjust their sitting position to the bike whereas the correct thing to do is adjust the bike to your body.
Bikes are all the same
Bikes are all made the same at the factory and bodies are all different so of course there is a mismatch in many cases. Unless you happen to be the prefect fit for your bike then you will never be able to find the perfect riding position for ache free riding.
Try This Test
One way to discover if you and your bike are properly matched is to sit on your machine and close your eyes. Then with eyes still closed reach out for the handlebars and stop when you think this is where the bars should be and open your eyes. Notice where your hands are and where the bars are. You might have to do this a few times to get the idea of it. What you are testing for is to find if the bars are where they should be for you. Not where the bars are for the bike.
If you find that you hands are an inch above the bars when you open your eyes then you could well need risers of that amount or about that amount. This is because you have found your natural riding position.
Wrist Angle
While doing this also take careful note of the angle of your wrists to the angle of the bars. Oftentimes you will find your wrists are at a slightly different angle to the bars. This means that you need bars set at a slightly different angle to the originals.
There are a variety of handlebar risers on the market and you should be able to find a set that meets your need if you experiment a bit by using the above test.
BMW K Series Owners
For riders of some of the BMW K series model bikes Flood makes an adjustable riser that you can fiddle around with to get into just the right position thus saving buying a range of bars until you get it right.
These bars are limited in their adjustment though as they only rise about an inch (25mm) although they can be set so they are a bit closer or a bit further away from the rider and no cable or other wiring extensions are needed.
If this doesn't meet your requirements then you need to go to other makers but you will be into more work extending cables and brake lines to get a more rise.
It is amazing sometimes how a very small change in handlebar position can make a huge difference in riding comfort and reduce or eliminate "after the ride" aches and pains.

Kent Tandem Bicycle - Kent Tandem Bicycle For a Solid Bike
After looking at multiple tandem bikes online, I ordered this Kent Tandem Bicycle Dual Drive from Amazon. I originally was looking for a more retro looking/classic tandem styling. However, the quality of these style of bike is "cheap and sloppy" in my budget price-range (or Uber expensive with the +$1000 tandem bikes). Thus, although the Kent Tandem Bicycle Dual Drive has a strange tube shape, this bike highly exceeds the quality of any other budget tandem bike on the market.
With Amazon shipping, it came in literally 2 days (free shipping too!). Large box, 67 pounds. The assembly was not too hard - if this is your first time putting together a bike, it will take just a little time... For more experience builders, this is an easy snap to put together: attach the handlebars, seat posts, reflectors, wheels, and snap on the brake cables. Presto Change-O, you have a built tandem bike!
I needed to oil and grease the bike since all of the wheel/gear bearings were dry as a bone. After adjusting the gears a bit and getting the brake tension just right, the tandem bike was ready for the virgin ride.
The bike handles VERY smoothly, takes bumps with a smile, and stops very quickly. One problem is that the over sized tires can make turns a bit tricky to get used to doing. But overall, I am more than pleased with this purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Was considering a Schwinn Tendem bike for $699 Plus Shipping from a local dealer...I went to Amazon.com and discovered the Kent Brand Bike. And it was a great deal and a really great bike. I would say Much to my surprise, FIRST CLASS.. well Made and a really great deal. It took a bit to get the fenders on but that was it. and two day free shipping was also great. I called customer service and got info I needed to regester for warranty. Try It, you well be amazed at the cash you will save and the qaulity of the product.

my bike's right brake handle broke off...?
can I replace the handle without having to buy a new bike. all the brake cables are there, because of the right handle broken off, all of the cables are loose. could I just go to some repair shop and buy one? also, how much would it cost? please answer all, no partials thanks!
You can replace the handel without buying a new bike. Bring it to a repair shop and they will tell you the part you need, you can install it yourself if you are mechanically inclined or have them do it. It should cost you $15 bucks for just the part $20 if you have them install it for you.
