Man, saddle are the proverbial 'bag of worm' for cyclist. Everybodies' butt is different, bicycle geometry is all over the map, and riding preferences run from beach cruising to technical mountain biking. That's why there are so many saddle designs.
There is no perfect saddle. All you can do is try out various ones 'til you get the lesser of the evils. Most serious cyclist prefer harder saddles, and will warn against gel foam. Also, saddles covered in a solid material will last longer than those covered in cloth.
As for prostate problems caused by long hours in the saddle, that is very individualistic. It is not a problem for most men. The major complaint is erectile dysfunction caused by pressure on nerve tissue, but that has received more hype than is warrented by facts. Saddles with central cut outs for relieving soft tissue pressure are popular now, largely because of that. Velo makes a good line, but so do most other manufacturers.
