A bicycle can have quite a few interlocking parts that all serve their specific functions. Some of those function are necessary to the use of a bike, like using the handlebars to steer. Other parts are important for your safety, such as having reflectors on the wheels and pedals. And still other parts are not necessary, but might be nice to have, like a water bottle holder or a bike seat bag.
One part that the bike that doesn't get enough focus is the seat. Having the seat adjusted at the proper height is very important for your joint health and for your comfort while riding.
Setting the seat in it's proper place is very easy to do. The way to go about it is to rotate the pedals so that one of them is at the bottom of its rotation and then place you foot on the pedal and bend you knee to approximately a 25 to 30 degree angle. Then you adjust the seat so that the height you're sitting at matches that 25 - 30 degree angle on your knee. On the frame where the seat post goes into the frame, there is a clamp that is tightened to keep the seat at the desired height.
Almost. There are a few times when riding your bike where it may be necessary to readjust your seat height. Some mountain bike scenarios require a lower seat for safety and some other situations require higher or lower seat placement. In order to easily return to the correct height, it is typical for bicyclists to mark the seat post at the correct height for them.
The most important reason to set your seat at the proper height for your body is because if the seat is too high or too low, you might find yourself straining your knees to give the pedals a full rotation.

Kent Tandem Bicycle Better Than Expected

I was trying to decide between this tandem for $260 and the Pacific one also on Amazon for $230. After reading all the reviews, I decided to go with the Kent for the following reasons: (1) The Pacific tandem lacks a chain tensioner, (2) Multiple reviewers stated that the rear handlebars on the Pacific are inadequate and need to be replaced right away, and (3) the Pacific had a non-standard bottom bracket mount that seemed to hold the cranks in place with two small screws, and there were several reviewers who complained that the cranks fell out while they were riding!
On the Kent, the major complaints seemed to be that the bike ships with virtually no lubrication other than on the rear handlebar clamp (true in my case), and that the bike generally arrives with the rear wheel bent or out of true (true in my case).
The bike arrived largely assembled, all you have to do is slide in the two seatposts, screw on the 4 pedals, mount the rear handlebars, and put the front handlebar neck into the stem.
The other thing is that all the cables on the bike ship loose except for the front derailer which seemed to arrive tuned(!). The brakes and rear derailer need to be set up from scratch, including setting the high and low stop on the rear derailer. I ended up spending $35 at a bike shop to set up the derailer, true the back wheel, and tune the brakes, so I'm $295 into the bike at this point and even at that I consider it a very good deal.
The bike is a steel tandem, it's heavy. The riding position is like a comfort bike, and the frame is definitely on the short side for a tandem. I'm 6 feet tall and the rear seat is a tight fit for me unless I tilt the rear bars quite a way forward to give me knee clearance.
Overall, the bike looks great, it's fun to ride, and is perfectly adequate. It's a nice novelty for riding around town, but it's certainly not something I would consider for a fitness program or any kind of distance riding. It's basically a department store bike built for two, and from my perspective it fulfills it's role admirably. It is fun!

I got a haro bmx bike. its a TR 2.3 20 inch bmx bike.
its got a nice haro 3 piece and sproket and haro forks.
and a seatpost and clamp. a random front rim and tire.
i put it on craigslist for $35. it was a 300 dollar bike a few years ago complete.
heres a picture, its not mine but its identical to mine (except the color, mines cream colored)
mines just a little dirty not much rust.
