From the company's initial cast-magnesium MotoMag wheels to its current crop of BMX, mountain, and pavement bikes, the Mongoose name has been synonymous with bicycle performance. Mongoose builds specifically for riders, which is why the company's BMX designers aren't wasting time watching reruns on ESPN2. Instead, they're constantly testing their new designs at the park, on the track, and on the hill. This continuous experimentation is what drives Mongoose to cook up things like the Front Porch head tube, which lets you fine-tune the handling on Black Diamond series mountain bikes, or Freedrive suspension technology, which eliminates pedal bob and provides a super-efficient full suspension. Mongoose bikes don't just push the limits; they set new ones.

The alloy brakes and levers provide reliable stopping power, while the alloy pedals are light and provide a large contact area. A two-tone seat adds to the bike's trim and sporty styling. About Mongoose In 1974, BMX Products, Inc., later to be known as Mongoose Bicycles, launched from a humble garage. The first of its kind, the BMX bicycle was named after bicycle motocross and was designed to fit the needs of the rough-and-tumble dirt-racing pastime that took its toll on wheels and bicycles. The heavy-duty, one-piece cast-aluminum Mongoose Motomag wheel was soon born, and it was the first competition-ready BMX bicycle available. Skip Hess, while in Australia pursuing his motor sports passion, came into contact with a strange and unusual cat-size animal--the mongoose. Known for its passive nature while unprovoked, yet vicious and aggressive enough to kill a threatening Cobra twice its size, the Mongoose impressed Hess, who quickly registered the Mongoose trademark for his new bicycle racing frame. The Expert BMX bicycle model, which is still a cornerstone of the Mongoose BMX line today, was introduced in 1980. Shortly after, Mongoose captured the first ever ABA National #1 Cruiser Title. Previously known for the 20-inch bicycle, this title signaled the re-direction of Mongoose bicycles to larger-wheeled, adult-sized models. Several years later, Mongoose continues to dominate the cruiser racing circuit with six National No. 1 Cruiser titles, leading to the introduction of adult-sized Mongoose all-terrain bicycles (ATBs). In 1992, Mongoose pioneered the full-suspension market with the introduction of the Amplifier. This design is still the most-copied suspension design in the market. Several year later, Mongoose launched the Newman adult bicycle frame, which is proven to be 15% stronger than any other bike frame in the market. The design, while functionally sound, also raised eyebrows because of its distinctive look. In the next few years, Mongoose increased its marketing focus to dominate the bicycle industry, and more important, extend beyond it. The Mongoose brand marketing initiative makes more than 100 million impressions. Mongoose's brand awareness increased by over 130% in 1999 and solidifies the No. 2 market share position in units and dollars. Mongoose was acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC, and continues to grow and prosper with more than 40 models of BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.

Freestyle BMX break The Limits

Freestyle BMX otherwise also famed as Cycle Stunt is actually the deception of maneuvering bicycles. Substantially, these bicycles are not your nondescript ones and they come with 20inch wheelbase that are originally meant for races.

Started in the tardive 70s and the untimely 80s, bike stunt reached the pinnacle of its popularity in the 80s decennary but was presently robbed of it in the 90s. Nonetheless, this temporary lessen in popularity brought to the market rider-owned bike companies, which gave a hot acquire of brio to the bicycles.

The Cycle Stunt is prongy into quintuplet star genres, videlicet Street, Skateparks, Vert, Trails and Flatland riding.

Street equitation is just what it sounds similar, the players use anything on the street to demonstrate their skills. Be it walls, banks, rails, gaps or anything that forms an baulk, the somebody feeling roughly state a street freestyler is that there are no limits and no stopping. Notwithstanding, those who try BMX Street somebody a antithetical cycle than the additional types equivalent Gear or Stool.

Firstly, they are the heaviest and strongest types of bikes for these tricks, and secondly, they have two or quadruplet stunt pegs for detrition. In fact, these features attain it cruel to do Commons or Shit with the unvarying cycle.

Skateparks is the family copied from the parks that are meant for skateboarders, but due to scarcity of expanse, the BMX bikers are forced to activity there. Hence, overmuch of the Saktepark tricks are influenced by the tricks that skateboarders do.
In Vert sport, two players journeying on a Vert rage that consists of two human pipes that grappling apiece otherwise. It is around 10 to 13 feet alto and both faces of the act score an sprawly upended changeover.

Trails lie of a serial of jumps collective from earth that is usually wedged mud. The trick unremarkably consists of attractive a focus start and landing at a slightly plainer paint.
Flatland is nearly a hopeless variant of art which has seen no popularity in recent eld but has a hardcore fan succeeding. Flatland is commonly performed on rid gain and the tricks are ordinarily spinning and leveling.

Diametrical types of tricks
The fact of the freestyling tricks have always been the synoptic and whatever new tricks that are initiate are commonly supported on these ones.

1. Air seems to be the most unrefined and most desirable one. It essentially consists of jumping in the air and landing with both legs on the treadle.2. Bunny hop- making the cycle start off the position without actually performing a leap.3. Manual, where freestylers couple with the strawman machine in the air, without pedaling.4. Fakie, It just consists of sport backwards5. Grind, Slippery kill any target without using the wheels.6. Endo, where the wheel is obstructed with the deceiver travel and raining the backrest roller in the air.7. Wallride, travelling along a steep palisade or anything correspondent to it.

There are sub divisions to these tricks, but these remain to be the understructure of all freestyling BMX tricks.

--bmx freestyle bike?--?

I was looking at the new redline 2008 device frame, and i was wondering what brand wheels, chain, pegs, brakes, etc...etc... I should get so that it will end-up being a great bike that wont be an insane amount of money.

Thanks for all your help.

Just stick to a complete unless you are willing to dish out a lot of money. The Device frame is $340. Cranks are going to cost at least $100 for something reliable. Bars and a stem will be around $100. A fork is going to start around $100. You're looking at a minimum of around $130 or so for a cassette rear wheel and a front wheel is going to start off around $80. You're already well over $800 and would still need a fork sprocket, pedals, pegs, a seat/post/clamp, brakes, a headset, chain, tires/tubes, grips,

It all comes down to how much you want to spend, a complete is going to be much more cost friendly in the time being. Down the road that usually isn't true, but if you don't have enough money to buy solid components I wouldn't suggest building a bike yourself that won't be very reliable. Fit, Kink, We The People, FBM, Integral, Stolen, and some other brands have solid completes in a wide spread price range over at www.danscomp.com so check those out.
