You can use the entire ceiling tile if you want. Another option is to cut it down to a smaller size. It is your call!

Step 4: Curve the second vintage ceiling tile into a tube

There are actually french, italian, and uk threads on old road bikes. The difference is the way that they are threaded and which frames they will fit properly. It is possible to get a bottom bracket on the wrong frame, but it will strip it all out. The differences is the thickness of the threads douche.
