The Canon C-104 toner cartridge is one of the few cartridge units not outfitted with a fill hole. Therefore to gain access to the toner hopper for the purpose of conducting a refill, the user will need to perforate a section of the cartridge's polymer housing. To do just that, a refill tool will come in handy. The refill tool, also called a holing tool, is actually an improvised soldering iron with a conical tip that is used to bore a hole over the polymer casing covering the toner chamber. While the process is fairly simple, diligent care should be observed as the user will be handling a heated device and mishandling could cause burns.
Aftermarket printer consumables such as the Canon 104 toner refill kit are preferred by many laser printer users due to its low pricing. Compared with the $85 counter price of the OEM Canon 104 toner cartridge, a compatible toner refill product will only fetch a price of $12. Quality wise, variance is negligible as similar output quality has been observed from both OEM and compatible toner. Moreover, both products guarantee the same yield rating of 2000 pages at 5% page coverage. Now to kick off the refill task, you will be needing the following materials.
- 1 empty but still workable Canon 104 toner cartridge.
- 1 toner refill kit compatible with the Canon 104 cartridge (package comes with a funnel cap, a pair of latex gloves, lint-free toner wipes and an instructional material)
- 1 hole plug (hopper plug)
- Duct tape to prevent toner leaks.
- Refill tool
Remember to conduct the refill in a well-lit and well-ventilated environment. As much as possible, do it on a sturdy workbench or kitchen table and have a trash can nearby where old toner powder will be disposed. The refill process is rather simple and easy and does not need technical skills to perform. Here's how you do it:
- Unload the empty toner cartridge from the laser printer and place it flat on the workbench or table.
- Mount the refill tool on the holder, plug it to an electrical outlet and let it heat-up for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Pinpoint and mark the section on the cartridge where a hole will be burned using the refill tool.
- Aim the heated refill tool vertically onto the marked section and gently push its copper tip over the polymer until a hole is burned on the cartridge.
- Unplug the refill tool thereafter and let it stand to cool.
- Clean the hole from any burned plastic residues since those could damage the sensitive imaging components inside the cartridge.
- Dump whatever is left of the old toner. Use a toner vacuum (optional) to rid the inside chamber from toner residues.
- Pull out the bottle of compatible toner from the package.
- Tap it on the workbench, unseal and attach the funnel cap over its mouth.
- Position the spout over the hole and let toner transfer freely into the chamber.
- When the chamber is full, seal the fill hole with the hopper plug and place duct tape over it to prevent toner leaks. This completes the refill process.
- Hold the cartridge and shake it gently to distribute toner into the cavities of the cartridge and load it back into the printer.
The entire refill process should only take you 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Grab a Canon 104 compatible toner refill kit now to start this cost effective and fun endeavor.

Wireless Intruder Alarms - Cable Free Solutions For Millions!
Wireless intruder alarm technology is reaching a point where it is now leaving its older 'hard wired' brother behind! At long last we all have a reason to switch codes and go wireless!
Not too many years ago, every security installation involved crawling through basements and lofts while trailing metres of cable, shifting cabinets filled with all manner of boxes and unused items, and hunting for elusive power cables hidden in walls? As recently as two years ago, that was still the norm despite the fact wireless security products have been on the market for more than ten years!
The Future Of The Wireless Security Age Is Now Upon Us
The benefits of NOT installing a hard wired security system are enormous, so long as the features, benefits and reliability of the new generation of wireless intruder alarms can match up. There quite literally is no reason why you should not consider going wireless.
One of the biggest expenses of any security installation is that of the install enginees themselves. They are highly trained professionals and therefore their time does not come cheap. You now have the option to minimise this expense more than ever before.
It is almost hard to believe that it is now possible to purchase a reliable wireless intruder alarm in kit form, that you are able to install in a matter of hours for yourself! If you are not wanting to install your own then a reputable local company should be sort and their engineers can install one for you without fuss.
As these kit sytems are designed with the maximum flexibility possible, you are able to discuss your needs with a reputable home security company and have the exact system that you require. Quite literally a bespoke wireless intruder alarm that is designed to work with your property!
The money that you can now save buying this type of home security, especially on the internet is considerable. Not only are you not paying for the workforce and the disruption that ensues with the old style 'hard wired' system. You can save on the retail cost by buying direct from a retailer who is also not paying for a retail shop front. The power of all technologies in this scenario are working in your favour.
In a small property, it is possible to design, purchase and set up your own wireless intruder alarms for less than £300! You can also have a professional company fit a bespoke system for as little as £500, a saving of many hundreds compared to traditional hard wire systems.
The better companies installing these systems should be able to offer you ongoing monitored alarm systems that can be policed by a secure and professional team that can help to co-ordinate the best response possible should an intrusion occur.
It is now fair to say that wireless intruder alarms are now bringing the joys of quality home security to the masses. Once you have decided upon the functionality you require, which you can discuss with any quality retailer. You are only one step away from a level of protection that will help safeguard your peace of mind and your families safety permanently.

i have a laptop connected to the internet with a lan cable over the powerline in the house and it works fine. however i bought a new desktop pc, if i take the lan cable out and put it into the new pc i get no internet. why? even if i change the tcp/ip settings subnet masks numbers into the new pc it still wont work. thanks for any help!
Turn off the computer and router. Turn the router on first, then when it is done turn on the computer with the ethernet connecting the powerline box to the computer.
