More and more people are coming back to cycling. They were cyclists in the past, they want to get healthy and they want to use cycling training as their way of doing that.
The key thing at the start is getting the bike. Use the Internet; choose something that will do the job, if you are into road cycling then that will require a road bike, but if you want to go on tracks and road then a hybrid is more suitable. I cycle mostly on the road and use a Mountain Bike and think it is excellent. It is down to personal preference, just make sure it is the right size, the saddle should be at hip height when you stand next to the bike.
When you have a bike, just get on and begin riding, but just make sure you have the right safety equipment, helmet, lights and clothing.
Cycling training is a great way to get fit and get fit quick, you have to select what level you are aiming for, training plans are adaptable, the good ones allow you to work towards what you are aiming to achieve and then use the pro-gramme to reach your required level.
Using a cycle training programme will very soon get you into a habit where you are on two wheels, riding and getting healthier, using your available time to improve your fitness and cycling technique, (yes there is a technique to cycling).
Cycling is a brilliant way to get your body back in shape, your heart, lungs and muscle strength will all improve and if you watch what you eat, it is a great way of burning the calories and losing weight.
Cycling training is working for me and it can help you.

Office Transformation Specialists Named in Sunday Times Green List
A company that has developed a solution to make UK workplaces ‘greener’ – with a far reaching effect on the environment – has been officially ranked among Britain’s top 50 green companies.
Morgan Lovell, which designs and builds sustainable office interiors, has secured success in the Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards 2008.
The company was chosen because of its holistic approach to sustainability, which includes reducing its impact on the environment as well as helping clients reduce their carbon emissions through ‘green’ office design.
Speaking about the criteria for success in the Green List, Richard Caseby, managing editor of The Sunday Times, said: “The 50 companies in this survey are all pioneers – enterprising, enlightened and fizzing with new ideas. All have a common sense of purpose about their corporate social responsibility.
Key to Morgan Lovell’s entry was its design and refurbishment of its headquarters - a ‘testbed’ office that utilises the latest in sustainable thinking. Located in London’s Soho, the office achieved the highest environmental rating under the BREEAM system, from the BRE. If rolled out across the UK, the nation’s offices would significantly reduce their carbon emissions.
David Henderson, managing director of Morgan Lovell, said: “Recognition in The Sunday Times Green List reinforces the level of research and development we’ve put in place to reduce the impact the nation’s workspaces place on the planet.
“We are committed to developing a more sustainable approach to office design and build in the UK and this gives us a great platform to show the business community how workplaces can be committed to the environment, financially viable and innovative in their design.”

What are your ideas to tackle the most pressing issues of our day in energy, purified water, and logging?
What is your idea(s) of how to take current proven technologies used in some fields of practical application that can be slightly modified or adapted to fit our growing needs of consumption in such areas as electricity, purified water, and logging without hurting our environment?
My example: No one wants nuclear power plants in their back yard, but nuclear power is a cheap and very effective method of using technology to increase our power supply without leaving a large carbon trail. My solution: Build stationary off shore nuclear submarines with the sole intent to send power to major coastal cities, as well as use the excessive heat to evaporate sea water into a piping system that'll send fresh purified H20 to cities increasing their supply of needed purified water.
All ideas are welcome, even emerging technologies, but please focus on proven practical methods in your answ
Nuclear power is the future. It can be put on coasts, dry land, to createe purified water and to creat hydrogen to power cars. The technologies will also work for inland lakes and streams.
Wind farms are not possible because they kill too many birds and there is just not enough wind. And solar is not possible yet because it is just to inefficient. As of yet.
Logging will be done I personally think with specially breded trees. Or whatever the process is called. Where we will make a tree that grows to a certain number of feet tall in less then a decade and just cycle through a forest cutting one area while the others grow. But that is an if; but it is proven technology because corn at one point was just grass but by humans forcing natural selection we made it what it is today.
