My first impression was that I found it awkward to have to reach down to use the brakes. I got used to that fast. My second impression was how effortless it was to go fast on this bike. The 63cm, black and silver Denali, rides really smooth. I will say that this bike is really fantastic for the price. I am so impressed with the quality for fewer than two hundred bucks.
The wheels and tires are quite narrow and 28 inches. Combine that with the aluminum frame, shimano derailleur and it performs very well.
GMC Denali Road bike rides tight and looks really nice. I found a specialized bike that looked completely used up that the seller wanted the cost of three of the GMCs for. I decided that I could have three new bikes, back to back for the price of one bike that I wouldn't trust to get me around the block. I bought the Denali.
The seat is comfortable for a road bike, and the Denali pedals easily, making long rides a breeze. The kickstand is a welcomed addition (and removable for those who balk at kickstands).
If you want a true bargain, have some tools/experience and are willing to tinker, get the Denali. It's a hoot to ride! The gear shifting appears to be fine overall to me, and conveniently placed on the handle bars. Because the bike is solid aluminum, it is fairly light and very durable.
But a caveat emptor is that it is a bit heavier but stronger than other standard (bianchi, trek, giant) commuter road bikes since those tend to have a skinnier aluminum frame while this one seems to follow Ford Motor Company's "built tough" motto. (Lighter frame materials would be titanium, carbon, and some kind of composite: carbon and titanium frame bikes WILL cost you over $1500 new, at least)
Another aspect people will easily miss is that the forks, unlike the frame, is made of steel so they're heavier than normal--but this is because while aluminum is lighter than steel, it is also stiffer which would make for a bone-jarring ride; the only real solution to this is to get 200-300$ all carbon.
Overall I am very pleased with the bike GMC Denali. You just can't beat the price. The bike is lightweight, has very good gearing, and can be very fast. It goes better than it stops. Replacing several key components will improve the bike significantly. It is not perfect, but when you factor in the price, it is a great deal.

How To Improve Your Triathlon Timing With A Good Road Bike
A triathlon is a grueling event that consists of a swim, cycling, and ends with a run. If you don't have previous conditioning, you are going to find it hard to finish the event. Sometimes, for such events, it's all about energy efficiency. A good road bike can help you improve your overall timing. Here's why.
Reason 1: More aerodynamic.
Reason 2: More comfortable ride.
Reason 3: Less weight to carry.
Reason 4: Better power transfer.
Reason 5: More competitive looking.
Reason 1: More aerodynamic.
A good roadie is definitely more aerodynamic. If you are thinking about completing a triathlon with a mountain bike, think again! Not that it's impossible, but it's going to be energy sapping. Your timing will be terrible. That's why very few people (except beginners) use mountain bikes to participate in such events.
A good bicycle helps you deal with wind resistance. The faster you go, the more wind you have to deal with. With a more aerodynamic position, you spend less energy trying to overcome the wind resistance. That translates to better speed. You also save energy for the run.
Reason 2: More comfortable ride.
Good tri bikes, especially those with aero bars, provides you with a more comfortable ride. The posture is more aerodynamic, allowing you to pedal smoothly and cover more ground quickly. Your elbows can rest on the handlebars and you can recover while your competitors are struggling on their bicycles.
Reason 3: Less weight to carry.
Carbon fibre and titanium bikes weigh much less when compared to traditional aluminum bikes. Of course, aluminum bikes are more commonly seen as they cost a lot less. If you have the cash to spare, consider buying a full carbon bike. A full carbon bike can weigh 3 to 4 kilos less than a mediocre aluminum bike. That means those who are riding a poorly engineered bike could be riding with a 3 to 4 kilo handicap!
Reason 4: Better power transfer.
Good roadies are engineered to transfer the maximum amount of power to the wheels. If you ride a poorly engineered road bike, you notice that much of the power is lost when you pedal. This is often described as "the bike is not very responsive". High quality road bikes prevent unnecessary energy wastage. As you pedal, the bike surges forward, and that's what you want to achieve.
Reason 5: More competitive looking.
Join an multi-sport event and you will notice many participants looking very aggressive. They dress in dri-fit expensive looking clothing, and they ride super costly carbon bikes. The event appears more like a bike show. Each competitor is trying to showoff his or her latest (or most expensive) bike.
This has a mental element to it. Besides being able to showoff, having a good road bike also provides a mental advantage. You know, for sure, that others will find it hard to beat you. After all, you are carrying less weight, and you are up against lesser wind resistance. Before the event starts, you are already one up.

How much does a Carbon bicycle cost? Are they better then steel, alumenium bikes?
Hi, i want to buy a carbon bike hopefully in the summer for college. Im looking for a carbon adult sized bicycle, how much would that cost? whats the average price range?
I would be happy if you can give me information on carbon bikes, like their advantages and disadvantages over alumenium, steel bikes and experience uses them are they much better for the road?
As with all things cycling related, you gets what you pay for, but be careful of marketing babble and hype.
Each frame material has it's benefits and pitfalls, it's a case of working out what you need the bike for, how long you expect it to last for and what your budget is.
Carbon is the de-facto standard in the pro peleton, because it's light and rigid. It's still relatively expensive, and a serious crash could irreparably damage the frame. Carbon fibre frames are made by gluing layers of carbon weaved material in a mould, so a bad crash could cause the layers of carbon to delaminate leading to failure. A really bad impact can see the carbon literally snap. However, they're super light, super rigid and generally look the bee's knees!
You can buy a Ribble Nero Corsa by Dedacciai of Italy for £400 (frame only). Conversely, you could spend £2,200 on a Cervelo S2 (frame only) or an Isaac Sonic (frame only) for £1600. All have their merits and drawbacks! A good carbon bike to go for without breaking the bank is the Trek Madone 5.2 - e.g. http://www.kbcycles.com/more_details.php?id=100081
Aluminum frames tend to be extremely light because the tubes have extremely thin walls. They are also very stiff because the frames are made with oversized tubing. Alloy frames can also be bought quite cheap now. The downside is that aluminum has a low fatigue life, and has a fatigue memory. Several crashes or abuse will lead the alloy failing, resulting in a snapped frame. Again, Ribble do a solid budget line of alloy frames for around £140 or you could buy a Cervelo S1 for £800.
Steel frames were once the only choice for people without big bank accounts, but now steel tends to be more of a custom option. Steel is generally heavier than all the other materials, but is generally quite rigid and has a good fatigue life compared to alloy.
I personally ride a titanium road bike, made by Justin Burls (www.burls.co.uk). Titanium is extremely light, resistant to corrosion (so you don't need to paint it and it won't rust) and it's super strong. The pitfall is that it's expensive and doesn't have the same rigidity as carbon and most aluminum frames.
My advice would be to ride the bikes within your budget and see what feels nicest. Don't forget it's not just about material, the geometry is important and so is the intended use of the bike.
I hope this helps you!
James
