All bicycles used to fall under 2 common categories - mountain bike and road bike. The mountain bicycle is meant for rough terrain riding, while the road bike is meant for smoother roads.

In 2007 the bike new was $2400. Actually the bike would be worth what ever you're willing to pay for it. What's it worth to you?
Looking at the specs I'd say he has added some nice components and wheels but without seeing the bike and its condition I really couldn't say. The bike itself is three years old and if it were stock it would sell for maybe $600 or $700. If the bike is in mint condition along with everything on the bike I mite pay $1200, not much more. Thing to consider is if your looking at that much money, what would that $1200 buy in a new bike? I personally would do some shopping before I purchased this one.
