The suspension system is the reason why drivers are able to control their vehicles. It is the job of the suspension to maximize the friction between the road surface and the tires. This is to provide steering liability with good handling which can ensure a comfortable ride for your passengers. Suspensions are not actually needed if all roads were even, flat and utterly smooth. But then, there isn’t a road without imperfection which is what applies forces to the wheels. So a bump in the road would cause the wheel to move up and down perpendicular to the road surface. How big the movement is would depend on the size of the object the wheels bumped into. The suspension system has many components like struts, springs, shock absorbers and the tires. One of the components of the suspension system of your Pontiac that works in harmony with the others is the Pontiac Strut.
The strut is the structural component designed to resist longitudinal pressure in order to provide support and strengthen the vehicles framework. It combines the primary function of the shock absorber as a damper with the ability to support sideways loads similar to a sliding pillar suspension and eliminating the need for an upper suspension arm. The Pontiac Strut do more than the shock absorber because the shock absorbers do not support weight of the vehicle but only control the speed at which the weight is transferred in a car. The upper part of the hub is rigidly fixed to the inner part of the strut proper, the outer part of which extends upwards directly to a mounting in the body shell of the vehicle. This type of suspension is only used with a unitary body construction.
Widely preferred by drivers, it is because the MacPherson strut can be used on both front and rear suspension of the car. This simplified the front suspension by integrating the Pontiac Strut and spring and shock and eliminating the need for the upper control arm or the ball joint. The strut carries both the coil spring on which the body is suspended and the shock absorber which is in the form of a cartridge mounted within the strut. It also has a steering arm built into the lower inner portion. By eliminating the need for the upper control arm there is more width in the engine bay. The whole assembly is very simple and can be preassembled in a unit. The downside for this is that any damage on one part automatically means a replacement of the whole assembly.

Yes, well equpiied for $430. It would be a bit too much on the plush side for me but would make a fine bike for everyday riding up to 25 miles or so.
Definitely not for fast riding.
