I'd recommend the hybrid/comfort bike because it's probably most similar to what is familiar to you, yet best suited to the terrain and situation. Since the path is cement, the Mountain Bike will be less suited. The road bikes are probably more for fast paced road riding, rather than a cement bike path. The cruisers are probably more slow riding for short distances, which may also be ok for you, but the bike setup with be a little different than a mountain bike. But, overall, the hybrid is best suited for moderate paced bike path use with some sightseeing, etc.
Maybe consider a tandem bike, if you feel more adventurous. A tandem bike is a two person bike, which are fun to ride as long as your partner pulls their share. lol. Especially if you've never tried a tandem, it might be a fun experience. But you'll have to be in a somewhat adventurous mood if you've never ridden a tandem before.
