Front and center, I want to bring to your attention the following facts about the church symbol, adopted by the Church of God In Christ.
The rain in the back ground and its representation:
"The rain also serves as a challenge to the Church to keep Christ in the center of our worship and service..."
When something (or someone) in at the center, all eyes and attention are on that object. The Church has magnified their agenda, their programs, their status, their leaders and Christ is hard to distinguish as the center of this Great Church. One or more visits to a C.O.G.I.C church will bear the obvious. Granted there are some churches who decided to drop the C.O.G.I.C affiliation because they wanted to separate themselves from the buffoonery and ignorance that has plagued our many churches and there are some whom decided to keep the C.O.G.I.C name and they are faithful at keeping Christ at the center.
We have some beautiful brothers and sisters in Christ in this great church (this is no reference to looks, appearance or stature) and since the door was left open to compromise and looking the other way for the sake of sparing people who believe modesty is too restrictive, we have what we have today, the Christian double standard and questionable morals
Man, Can You Feel That Bass!
Whatever happened to songs like, I Surrender All? Spiritual songs and hymns have been replaced with a beat so moving, the choir, the men and especially the women (young and old) cannot keep still. A familiar dance move here, too much cleavage and short skirts keep some of the women motionless and for the most part it looks like a Friday night at the club. That bass guitar can really get a crowd to neck crank and jerk.
Somehow we associate the emotional high that your get when listening to some good music, with the move of the spirit. I realize that articles like this will get you an office appointment with the Bishop, after the pastor is through with you for speaking what is relevant and true, but where is Christ in the Center of all this? If Jesus Christ was here in the Flesh would you have praise dancers? Pedophiles are among us in the Church and we dress our young girls up in tutus and some adult women (well endowed) will pirouette and leg kick all because we want to be entertained and we want to give our children an audience to express themselves so they wont go out into the world.
The Language has changed.
Choirs perform, they no longer minister in song; we have the Pastors sermon, seldom a Word from The Lord but a self inspired exegesis. If there were truly a word from the Lord, He would call out our Sin; He would speak out against the lack of modesty among our women, missionaries and prophetess. You cannot tell me that sensuality has a place in the place of worship. These things ought not be.
Being saved, sanctified and yet a Diva! Has no place in your identification with Christ. Be a diva unto your husband. Sisters in Christ, your hips, thighs and big round eyes are for your husband to enjoy and look upon in those moments with each other, in your alone time; it's not for the church to see your cleavage and accentuated figure. Nothing is left up to the imagination anymore, all you have to do is look and the woman being looked at will speak her intentions with her body language...in the church...and even from the pews.
Children of God, it's time that we really search ourselves (since many pastors, evangelist missionaries, church mothers, and the prophetess will not); we have truly blended in with the world and its pleasures of sin for a season that God has saved us from. The only difference is, we no longer have modesty, shame and conviction (as we use to do when we were hiding our carnality), and we now advertise and will dare and protest anyone who will preach or speak against it for our betterment.
Are we failing the challenge?
When the general board accepted the symbol to represent the Church Of God In Christ, back in 1981, did they accept the challenge to keep Jesus Christ in the center, that the church may be used as one of the vehicles of Pentecostal Revival before the return of the Lord?
Church leaders are challenged on every hand and some have adapted modern ways to lead. It took the board eight years to adopt the church symbol, why so long? Why are we to this day so lethargic in our approach?
When the birth of the internet was catching on and other churches saw the potential of the internet, where were we? When the required dues was paid, it took a minimum of six months to receive my credentials. Social media is a must for the growth of any organization (it helps to spread the word about products, events and services) and the churches members used it as a modern gossip and voyeurism tool. There are many other issues and problems that plague the church from the inside and the sad part is many members are well aware of it and will look the other way in denial and ignorance. Anyone questioning the status quo is quickly dismissed as a rouge saint and trouble maker.

It Starts and Ends With Ice
Think you’re invincible? Bet I can show you a prison full of individuals who likely thought the same thing. However, they’ll hear the metal bars slam behind them tonight when they turn out the lights and they won’t feel untouchable when the moaning sounds of prison consume them while they drift off to sleep. Chances are if their delusional dreams don’t wake them up during the night, someone else’s nightmares will. This is where crystal meth leads you. Welcome home.
In years past, teens tried pot or coke, possibly popped a few pills and probably had sex before marriage. They lied about where they were going, hid their boyfriend in their closet and drank alcohol right under an unsuspecting parent’s nose. You’re probably thinking, child’s play aren’t you? You’re right, compared to the methamphetamine abusers, drug users of yesterday belong on the jungle gym. Even if they became addicted to alcohol or pills, their addiction was a walk in the park compared to meth addiction.
Let me first tell you that you aren’t so tough just because you’re choosing to play with fire. In fact, let me scare you to death. You will get burned, no scorched, if you step close enough to the fumes of the fire. You won’t be given the chance to back away. One step is all it takes and if you are lucky enough to have a friend on meth, then the flames will encircle you quickly. You’ll never know you’re on the road to hell until you get to the end of it and then, that’s where the fun begins.
You’ll drive yourself insane trying to sort things out in your mind. You’ll experience paranoia like never before. You’ll curse your mother, steal from your siblings, and you’ll call little children names they’ve never heard before. You’ll have scabs on your face and in between your fingers, you’ll sweat profusely and become consumed with where you can find your next fix. And this will be your life on a good day. It gets better.
On bad days, you’ll be chased by the devil, you’ll take down your home’s walls, crash in your television sets, strip down your bed, take apart your refrigerator and you still won’t find the voices. You’ll take out your dashboard in a vehicle, call up a relative and threaten to kill them if they don’t stop the voices and if you’re lucky, the demons you hear will nap for awhile allowing you to doze off to sleep.
When they awake, you’ll be up within minutes and the whole process will start again. You’ll hear your mother, you’ll see your sister, you’ll talk to your dad and then realize no one is there. In fact, no one has been there. You are all alone. This is when you will call everyone up at 3 AM and ask them why they left you without saying good-bye all the while cursing them. Your mind will allow you to believe that your family or friends have been with you laughing and making fun of you. No one has been there but you believe in what meth allows you to see. You see people. You hear people.
What started as fun at a party now forces you to realize, really realize, you were entering into a life you would never be able to depart. Your mother or father won’t be able to save you and your sisters and brothers will be helpless. You’ll be angry at them. You will want to inflict pain on them, emotional or physical, it makes no difference to you.
Gradually, you will take your family down with you because you can and because you’ll refuse to let them find peace without you. Some of your family members will eventually come to the conclusion you would be better off dead and then they will hate themselves because of it. You will systematically destroy each member of your family because you’ll make sure they can not escape you or your problem.
One day, your family will not recognize you at all. Some of your family members will never give up hope, others will despise you for eternity because of the happy years you take away from your family. You will take those years and then, you’ll destroy them. Misery loves company and meth loves misery. You will create a circle of unhappiness for yourself and your family.
If you’re rich, you’ll be poor. If you’re poor, you’ll be lower than a snake’s belly because wherever you are in your life, once you try methamphetamines, your life as you know it will be over. Everything then is down hill until you hit rock bottom. However, rock bottom for meth addicts usually promises one of two things. Prison or the cemetery and both places are ice cold. Irony, sweet irony delivers to you exactly what you deserve, what you wanted and perhaps even asked for by name. However, your family did not.
They didn’t ask to remove all children from the home in the middle of the night because you threatened to kill someone there. They didn’t stand by your side and ask you to try meth. They didn’t make the decision to give up their family, their friends and their life. You made the decision. However, when you made the decision, you made a decision for everyone who loves and cares for you in your life. Often, you made the conscious decision to ruin the lives of everyone who loves you and that may be one of the cruelest aspects of the crystal meth addiction.
Mothers are leaving their children without a second thought. More and more children are raised by their grandparents because their parents are more in love with a fix than with the idea of parenthood. Parents are losing their sons and daughters and families are split. Welcome to the world of meth. Enjoy your ride. It will be one of the best rollercoaster rides you will experience, but only for a very limited time. Then, my friend, meth will walk you through a very wicked haunted forest and you’ll be lucky if you ever leave alive.

wondering about the legal things..?
Ok I'll try to keep it short here. My mom & dad died 5yrs ago & they had no will. They had a house & much land. They were not married & my dad wasn't biologically dad but my real father died when I was 2 & he had been around since I was 3. His family has agreed to see them as common law married so her estate gets half of everything as does his. His brother & sisters split his half & my & my "brother" (also not his child & has been in jail since he was 17 because of a crank problem he's now almost 30) I don't want to sell I want to live in their home. Is there any legal way to be able to do that? I know I could buy out the others but I don't have the money or the credit to do so.. Please help this land has been in my dads family for MANY years & I don't want to see it sold, what can I do?
I'm sorry to hear about your mom and dad. I'm not sure what you can/should do. I do know with something like this, you should consult a lawyer. When I had a legal problem, I used quicklegalanswer.com. The attorney assigned to my case responded fast and was pretty cheap. I’m sure someone over there can help you with this question. Anywho...good luck. Hope I helped!!
