Right tire pressure is very important in riding a mountain bike on a trail. It can make a huge difference in terms of comfort and control for the biker.
Too high pressure can make your tire have a poor contact with the ground thus making your bike hard to control or maneuver. Too low pressure however, will make your tires go irregular and very vulnerable to pinch flats.
The right tire pressure in a mountain bike vary between riders and tire setups. The trail, type of terrain are also big factors to consider how much pressure you need to put in your tire for a comfortable ride.
The easiest way to know the tire pressure that is right for you is to determine exactly which pressure you are comfortable with during normal conditions. After this, you will know for yourself how to adjust the pressure for different trails and type of terrains.
To start with, you should have a reliable pressure gauge, or much if a pump with a built in pressure gauge. Use these things every time you make adjustments in your tires. Gauge can be inaccurate thus, if you change it, it can make things more difficult for you.
Begin adjusting your pressure to 40- 50 psi. 30-40 psi is good you have a tubeless system. The heavier your body is, the more pressure you need to start with. Be familiar with the pressure for a while. Get the feel how your tires take corners and loose dirt.
Drop your tire pressure by 5 psi in each tire. Compare it with your previous setting. You should pin point some improvement in stability. But if you still don't, you can drop the pressure again by 5 psi.
Lowest pressure you can ride is always better, but it makes your tire very vulnerable to pinch flats. Pinch flat happens when you roll over something then it made it compresses the point where your tire and the tube get pinched between object and your rim on the wheel.
In tubeless tire system can take your worry about pinch flats away and just ride your bike in lower aire pressure with ease. You will know if you have taken the pressure too low if you start to bump your rims, burp air out along the bead, or you feel the tire roll under the rim during cornering.
The moment you get your right setting, squeeze the tire with your hands and know what it feels like. Once you have memorized how your tire feels like, you can always get your right pressure with any pump.

Tata Aria better than sibling Tata Safari?
Think of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) and Tata Safari comes to mind. The cars built and off-roading capabilities have wooed many despite there being several worthy competitors. This brawny car from the Tata stable is soon going to get a sibling in Tata Aria, which is a crossover between a SUV and Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) due to be launched in the near future. Coming from the same stable and falling almost in the same segment the two cars have a few things in common but the Tata Aria is a step ahead. Let's figure out how.
The Tata Safari comes with a 2.2L, 16 valve and a VTT DICOR engine capable of producing 140hp at the rate of 4000rpm and a torque of 320Nm at the rate of 1700-2700 rpm. The car comes in both two wheel drive (2WD) and four wheel drive (4WD) options. It is interesting to note that the Tata Aria too would come with the same engine and would have both 2WD and 4WD options.
However, it is the design, interiors and features of Tata Aria that set it apart in its class. The all new Aria is being hailed as the most sophisticated Tata till dated. The Tata Aria would have three rows of seating arrangements to accommodate 7 passengers. The second and third row seats can be folded fully flat to create more luggage space and there is good air conditioning for all three rows. The car has leather covered steering wheel, gear shift knob and leather seats, headrest mounted LCD screen, power and tilt steering, power windows at all four doors, automatic climate control AC, keyless entry, advanced CD/MP3 audio system, cup holders on floor console, cigarette lighter and ash-tray in front console, rear wash and wiper, electrical glass demister, digital outside temperature indicator, etc. These are some of the high end features found only in very expensive and top end SUVs. The Tata Aria would also have high-tech multimedia features like the advanced CD player, USB/Bluetooth connectivity, 3D sound etc.
On the other hand the Tata Safari has features like tubeless tyres, day-night instrumental panel, wood finish centre console, leather seats, power windows and leather wrapped steering and gear knob. Tata Safari dicor has a remote unlocking system that lights up the roof of the car for five seconds thus helping to trace the car.
Tata Safari also has some good safety features such as ABS, dual Airbags and reverse guide system. And for entertainment the car has a DVD/MP3 system with dual LCD screens as standard. The Tata Aria has disc brakes coupled with ABS and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) system. The ESP is the first in any Tata car. Aria's power steering, efficient braking system with ESP and standard ground clearance ensure hassle free driving.
Lastly, the Tata Aria is designed as per global standards and would be available in the domestic market by the second quarter of this calendar year with a piece tag of Rs. 12.5- 14.5 lakh while Tata Safari comes for Rs 7,91,353 – 12,23,969 (ex-showroom).

Seating Tubeless Tires?
I have Specialized Purgatory MTB tires and Bontrager Race Disc rims (both meant to be tube less) and I can't seem to get the tires to seat properly on the rim. They hold pressure fine but the bead seems to be all over up and down the sidewall of the rim giving the appearance of a very untrue wheel. I was wondering if there is a trick to evenly setting the bead of the tire recessed part of the rim near the lip. I've used soapy water and all it seems to help with is the ease of inflating them. Thanks. 10 points to best answer
That does happen because of the great grip the bead has to be leak-proof. Aside from the 1st suggestion also try to over inflate the tire to seat it. Many times this works well. Also, try riding it for a day or so and then try the 1st answer and mine.
