Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are popular beverages. When you are on the go, each of these requires a means of transportation. What should you look for in a travel mug? How do you choose the best travel mug?
Here are four qualities to consider when looking for a travel mug:
Insulation Qualities
In general, metals retain consistent temperatures longer than plastic, and double-walled mugs will as well. Plastics can also retain odors and stains, which is less likely with metal mugs.
Size
Most travel mugs hold sixteen ounces and up, large enough for most needs. However, if you are planning to take the mug in the car, make sure the bottom is small enough to fit in your cup holder. Older cars tend to have smaller cup holders, and mugs with a chunky base will not fit.
The Lid
Does the lid close? Cheaper mugs have a hole for drinking and are not spill-proof. How spill-proof is it? The best travel mugs have some kind of locking device, complete with a seal, to intercept being knocked over and guard against car bumps. Does it require too much work to open? Some thermoses, for example, require that you unscrew the lid to drink, which is not safe when driving.
Style
Do you like the look of sleek stainless steel? Will a more utilitarian mug do? Other than looks, consider whether or not you would like a handle, but be aware that two mugs with handles may not fit side-by-side in a car's cup holder.
Here are some recommended mugs:
Zak City Perk Belly Mug
This is a 14 ounce mug, and retails for $9. The wide base is stable, keeps drinks warm, and has a good lid, but is not useful for cold drinks.
Planetary Designs Tumbler Mug
This is a 16 ounce mug, and it retails for $18. It keeps hot and cold drinks at their particular temperature and is available in a variety of colors. The lid is looser than others.
Thermos Raya Stainless Steel Travel Tumbler
At 16 ounces, it will hold plenty, and retails for only $18. It contains useful rubber grips on the sides for good insulation. It is tall and the thin design can be tipped more easily.
Contigo AutoSeal Stainless Steel Travel Mug
This is another 16 ounce mug, which retails for $19.99. It has good insulation and a leak-proof lid. However, the lid is hard to clean.
So, which is the best travel mug?
The sleek Contigo AutoSeal Stainless Steel Travel Mug will keep hot drinks warm for hours and cold ones even longer. It has a no-spill lid and lives up to its AutoSeal name, resealing after you have taken a drink. The only drawback is that you must hold the release button while drinking, which is not much of an issue with today's multitaskers.

Gifts for Him and Why Boys of All Ages Love Their Toys
Boys will be boys - it's a popular saying and I'm sure it's something that has been said by many parents around the world. Often regarded as more boisterous than little girls, boys can often be seen playing around with their toys; whether alone or with friends, they are never far away for a gadget or game of some kind to entertain them.
You may remember the long summer days of your childhood? A time before computers became so widespread and almost everything electronic and cool came prefixed with an 'i'. Where a championship football or cricket match involved actual participation and BMX racing involved a gang of children, some rather battered looking bikes and some unsafe-looking hills and ramps, rather than a console and a glass of coke. Well, even though times have changed and toys are often of the indoor variety - requiring the latest software updates to work properly - it is still possible to recreate that innocent sense of real-world fun that you enjoyed as a child.
Whether you are planning on buying birthday gifts for him; for your son, a younger brother, or even a friend, why not opt for a Build Your Own Lamborghini? This hugely entertaining birthday gift for him is perfect for younger toy lovers who want to develop their creative construction skills - the old air fix model aeroplanes of old may have been fantastic, but this toy is really in a league of its own. A Build Your Own VW Camper Van is also available for kids - of either the little or big variety - who appreciate a little bit of retro cool.
Older boys may be into different things, but they undoubtedly appreciate their games as much as their younger counterparts. For that older fun-loving toy-playing boy, why not go for the USB Golf Putt Returner? These golf gadgets make perfect Gifts for those teenagers who like to spend lots of in front of the computer. And you can feel at least a little bit better about their apparent aversion to getting out in the sun by giving them a little bit of golf to focus their attentions away from the screen. Powered by USB, the USB Golf Putt Returner offers the perfect opportunity to practice real-world golfing skills that cannot be matched by anything online. How many hole-in-ones will it take before he wants to take up the game at you local club?
Grown-ups are a little more difficult to buy for. When they're out of their teens and done with university, they may have enough of a disposable income of their own to purchase any number of toys to entertain themselves with; so it means that when buying birthday gifts, you really have to go that extra mile towards thinking of something that appeals to their sense of fun.
But if the person you're thinking of is into oriental cuisine, why not buy them an ultimate birthday gift for the man who may well have everything - the Chopstick Kid. Whether or not the birthday boy is actually able to use chopsticks, it will be impossible to resist the fun offered by this fantastic toy. A tremendously simple concept, the Chopstick Kid works by pushing sticks into his legs so that the utensils can be used rather like tongs. It's not exactly how they'd do it in Japan or China, but isn't that part of the fun?
In fact, while he's unwrapping his amazing Gifts, you could always impress him with stories on the origins of the humble chopstick. Did you know that although believed to have originated in China, these fun utensils are used in a number of different Asian countries - and to a lesser extent in countless non-Asian cultures - including Vietnam, Japan and Korea? They are also used in Thailand, but there you're as likely to encounter a fork and spoon, which although far easier to deal with, are also far less fun.
The sticks themselves can differ according to the country in which they are used. The business end can either be tapered into points or be blunt, and they can also be constructed from a number of different materials. Wooden and plastic chopsticks are well known, but they can also be made from bamboo, bone, metal and jade.
However they're made though, the Chopstick Kid will make them work a treat. And if the etiquette of some different countries is observed - such as not standing the sticks up in bowls of rice - the whole birthday dining experience will undoubtedly be a fantastic success, should they be used. What could be better for Birthday Gifts than that?

How much easier is it to do freeride jumps on a Freeride Bike Vs. Hardtail?
I have a hardtail Iron Horse that I use for both some cross country and freeriding. I am into bmx and downhill but cant afford a freeride bike. When I went on the freeride trail at Jackson Hole I would usually wipe out when doing a five foot jump. Is this because I am using a hardtail. Would it be a lot easier to land if I had a freeride bike? The bike I used was a Iron Horse Maverick SE ($550 bike).
It really all depends on what you mean by 'freeride jumps'. There's lots of trails you can ride on a hardtail and jumping is 'generally' easier on a hardtail than it is on a full suspension bike, or at least than a long travel freeride bike. What is this jump like? Is it truly a jump or is it a drop? Is it a flat landing? Is the landing rough or fairly smooth?
If you're having trouble with the terrain or traction on the landing, a full suspension bike would probably benefit you. If you're stepping up your riding it'll probably be a worthy investment in the long run anyway. That said, I'd recommend you check out the MKIII or the 6 Point, or even the 7 Point from IH. All three are nice rides between 5" and 7" travel and can be had for pretty cheap used if you look around a bit.
