Companies pay a lot of money to create and protect their image and this goes a long way toward customer loyalty. Customers grow to expect quality goods from the company. This also adds to the value of the item. So, how do you know the NASCAR hats you bought are authentic? Is there a way to tell?
Does quality and price indicate you have bought authentic NASCAR hats? Quality and price do seem to go hand in hand but in many cases price is not indicative of quality. I have paid very little for quality hats and much more for the same. In most cases, the NASCAR hats are of higher quality than your run of the mill $5.00 hat so some may think it would be a good indicator. Unfortunately, I have seen some very thin ones and they were from reputable manufacturers. So, these two, together or alone, would not be good indicators of authenticity.
Maybe durability is a good indicator? Not necessarily. I have seen and own lots of durable hats but that does not make them an authentic item.
Well, what about the closures? I really prefer the old plastic closure where one side has holes and the other knobs that fit into those holes but it seems that most of the ball caps today, have Velcro closures for sizing them. Do the name brand manufacturers use a specific type or brand of sizer or closure which would indicate an authentic NASCAR hat? No. Whether it is Velcro, plastic, buckle or flex fit (no sizer), all the manufacturers use different closures.
So what is the best way to tell whether the hat I bought or want to buy is an authentic NASCAR hat? The absolute best way to tell, is to locate the tone-on-tone embroidered NASCAR logo. It is usually on the back and usually coupled with the manufacturer's logo which is also tone-on-tone. Next, look for the manufacturer's sewn in label located inside the hat on the band. If you do not find one of these two on your NASCAR hats, it most likely is a knock-off. If you find just the sewn in label, it could still be a knock-off.
Yes, there is a way to tell that the NASCAR hats you bought or plan to buy are the real deal. So, make sure you look for those tell tale signs before you invest much money. Whether you want one just for yourself or you want to invest for resale, you do not want to find out later that you have been a victim of the knock off market.

Just about anything you use or any color you choose will show up on a white hat. Now if you have a name or something you want to put on there, you can have that done in many colors as well. There is no end to the possibilities you can create.

Do you want a regular style, flex fit, custom fit, or maybe you want something really outrageous and go with an old style baseball cap. There is no wrong choice here. After all, you are starting from scratch. It is up to you as to the style you want.

Likely, it is a custom-made hat that you cannot get.
I know a TON of drivers have special hates. I've looked all over for a lot of the Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson special hats and have yet to find anywhere with them.
I asked the people at the Gordon souvenir hauler last year where I could find in and they said likely it would be nearly impossible to find and, as they are custom made and only a small number are made (for autograph signings, I guess).
