The BBB label is pretty popular as a cheaper alternative in lots of bike shops currently, and they actually have some quality stuff. A standard pad does well in most conditions, but if you ride in the wet very often you might like a softer pad like the salmon-red pads from Kool Stop. There are harder compounds also, if you have a lot of steep decending in your area...those will last a bit longer and not get as soft and fadey on extended descents.
