Well, it is time for a new set of tyres. Last year, I commuted 6912 miles.
Michelin Krylion is actually a good tire to commute in. It is typically used for competitive training or racing which obtains the lowest amount of punctures. I know numerous commuters that use racing tires that only get a couple flats within thousands of miles. They still aren't puncture proof, just don't forget to bring a pump and a spare tube with you.
Some tires you should also look out for are Kevlar tires. Prevents punctures, thorns and etc. Many of the top of the line tires are Kevlar enforced.
Also, the TPI. Which is the cord density. Any tire that can get more that 100 TPI is good for me.The Michelin Krylion has 127 TPI so I doubt you will be disappointed.
