Mini Kick Scooter - Pink Sale Price: $84.99 |
|
Kickboard USA is the official distributor for Micro-Moblity, Switzerland, makers of the Mini Kick scooter for kids ages 2-5, the Maxi Kick scooter for kids ages 5-10, and a full line of quality scooters for teens and adults. The Mini Kick is the quality choice in children's scooters. In 2011 the Mini was awarded the Parent's Choice Approved Seal and in 2009, it won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold and Platinum Award Seals for Best Toy. The Mini also was named 'Best Pre-School Scooter' by Toy Report, 'Best Outdoor Toy' by Learning Express Stores and was featured on the NBC Today Show as part of its 'Best Toys for Summer' series. What makes the Mini unique is its quality construction and 'lean-and-steer' design, which allows children to use their body weight to control the steering, giving them the feeling of 'surfing' the sidewalk, as they curve from right to left, almost like a skateboard. The lean-and-steer adds an element of stability and fun, great for learning balance and coordination. The Mini's 3 wheels make it easy for even the youngest kids to ride. The youngest kids will normally start riding in a straight line but learn quite quickly, almost intuitively, to gently lean, in order to steer. The older kids (ages 4 and 5) become very proficient, curving right and left as they 'surf' the sidewalk. The rear brake adds to the safety and fun. The Mini can be ridden inside while learning (or waiting for Spring) as the Italian made wheels are non marking. The wheels and shock absorbent deck work in unison to provide an incredibly smooth, quiet ride, a joy for parents and children alike. The mini's light weight (only 3.3 lbs), makes it easy for young kids to control and convenient for parents to pick up and carry when need be. Weight limit 44lbs. Children love to ride the mini kick daily, year after year and the modular construction means that all parts are replaceable, so it can last, virtually forever. Has your child ever dreamt of surfing the pavement just like the bigger kids? Now it's easier than ever before with the Mini-Micro kick scooter, which allows children from 3 to 5 years old to enjoy all the fun and freedom of scooting. The ergonomics and handling of the Mini-Micro were developed with youngsters in mind, with three wheels to keep the rider from falling over, a back brake for safety, low ground clearance, and a simple Powerstic steering mechanism. The company also avoided using any sharp edges in the Mini-Micro to prevent unfortunate bumps and bruises. Most importantly, the trendy toy--which weighs only 3.7 pounds--allows toddlers to surf the asphalt while simultaneously improving their motor skills, balance, and coordination. The Mini-Micro is built to last, with a polyamide base construction reinforced with 40-percent glass fiber and a polypropylene body. And when it's time to pack up and head home, you can easily remove the steering column and store the Mini-Micro in a backpack. The Mini-Micro is the ultimate kick scooter for youngsters of all skill levels. Specifications: Wheel diameter: 120/80mm Width of wheels: 24mm Wheels: Polyurethane, 78 Shore A Bearings: Precision Axle distance: 430mm Materials used: GFK, PP, ALU Width of deck: 110mm Length of deck: 300mm Age 3 to 5 years Dimensions: 8.6 by 26.4 by 21.6 inches (W x H x D) Weight: 3.7 pounds |

A motorized wheelchair as the name implies is a motor-powered wheelchair, hence it is often referred to as a power wheelchair. To operate a motorized wheelchair outdoors, make sure first to use the seatbelt. You should install a seatbelt if the unit does not have one. Likewise, attach wheelie bars if the unit has none.
A motorized wheelchair offers great speed that is why you need to be careful when moving. You do not want your arms or feet extending out during a high-speed maneuver. Foot-support straps are necessary to avoid injuries should your foot falls from a pedal.
In addition, take extra care when heading down short and sharp turns so as not jam the foot pedals. These wheelchairs feature automatic brakes but avoid sudden stops as this can damage your motorized wheelchair. Should you need to go fast, you can use the joystick control to keep the brakes from engaging.
Medicare "Power Mobility" Benefit
For Medicare beneficiaries, it is possible to get a motorized wheelchair free but of course there are certain qualifications that the person must meet to get this Medicare benefit.
First, to qualify for a free power or motorized wheelchair, the person must require assistance with one or more activities of daily living listed by Medicare, which are dressing and grooming, using the toilet, bathing and eating in the home's dining area.
In addition to this qualification, the person must also be unable or having difficulty using a cane, a walker or a manual wheelchair. Applicants who have been qualified thus far would need to consult a doctor or a medical equipment company for the motorized wheelchair evaluation to facilitate the approval process.
Being Safe
Even though it might be tempting to venture out into busy streets on your powerful motorized wheelchair, avoid doing this as much as possible because it is not safe, especially if you just got your wheelchair and you are still trying to figure out how to properly control it.
If you are crossing an open ground, a dirt road, or any soft surface, choose the safest path to avoid sinking the tires into the ground. Snow-covered grounds are dangerous because it is very hard if not impossible to control a motorized wheelchair on an icy surface so if you need to go out on a snowy day, make sure you have someone to accompany you.
Because of the power and speed of a motorized wheelchair, extra care is necessary when around children and seniors or anyone with balancing difficulties. Watch out over young children who may take hold of the control unit as the wheelchair would move quickly towards them if they pulled the joystick towards their way.

What is a Motor Scooter?
If you are in the market for a motor scooter, you've come to the right place. A motor scooter is something like a foot-powered scooter, except, of course, for the motor. With the motor, the motor scooter can get to higher speeds, and you can ride on the scooter while sitting down instead of powering the scooter yourself. Depending on the features you want in your motor scooter, your scooter may be able to do road speeds or not, and require a license to drive it or not. Other features are likely to differ as well. For instance, deck space on the scooters is going to be different depending on the scooter you decide upon.
If you get a motor scooter that is lesser-powered, it may top out at speeds of around 15mph. You likely don't need a special license for this type of motor scooter, although you might for certain other types. A Vespa-type motor scooter, depending on the design you choose, may need to be used by a licensed driver, and may be able to see highway speeds of up to 65mph. Other styles may be able to make it to around 30 or 40mph. You'll need to carefully evaluate your needs and prioritize your intended use of the motor scooter in order to decide which one is right for you. You'll need to decide between the power levels and how much power you truly need. You'll also need to decide whether or why a motor scooter suits your needs better than a motor bicycle. If you still like the exercise opportunity afforded to you by a motor bicycle, that might be a better fit for your needs than a motor scooter. Of course, you could always choose both a motor scooter and a motor bicycle, and choose the one you want based on your activities of the day.
When you are looking at motor scooters, you may have a lot of questions about the features of each. Feel free to ask your salesman all of your questions, so you can be sure you are finding the right choice for you. You'll want to be sure you know if you're choosing a scooter that requires a license in order to use.
Another feature difference between certain types of motor scooters is whether you prefer to have an electric motor scooter that needs to be charged up, or a gas powered motor scooter that you'll need to remember to fill up. You may have reasons to prefer one over the other, so be sure you consider that.
Once you've chosen your motor scooter, you'll need to be sure that you are using it in accordance with the rules. Be sure you are wearing a helmet and are following the rules of the road. Staying safe while riding your motor scooter can help keep you using motor scooters for years to come. Make yourself familiar with all the safety regulations regarding your scooter as well as using it on the road.

What classifies a motorized bike from a motorcycle?
If i got a 50cc dirt bike would it be illegal to ride on the sidewalk. What makes it different from just a bicycle with a motor. is there a limitation of engine size that makes it illegal to ride without a liscense?
Definitions vary between different legal jurisdictions. But basically a motorized bicycle is a bicycle, with pedals, a helper engine of less than 50cc and less than 2 bhp and no tranmission. You common 50cc dirt bike is over 2 bhp and has a multispeed transmission and is thus not a motorized bicycle. It is illegal to ride a 50cc dirt bike on public streets, parking lots, sidewalks, etc..
