Mountain Bike Wheel

It's always a pain to lug around more gear and tools than you need on a ride, but it's much more inconvenient to be stranded miles away from civilization with just a water bottle and cleats to hike in. There is always a debate over how much or how little to carry in your seat-bag, but if you're unsure what you might run into on a ride it's always better to err on the side of caution. In any case, here are a two different ways to approach seat-bag packing.

If most of your rides keep you close to civilization and within reach of cell phone towers, I recommend going with a minimalist approach. You'd rather not have to call for help in the event of a flat, so flat repair supplies is top priority. Here is the list:

  1. A small pack of sticker type patches. These work great for all but the biggest holes and are usually plenty durable to get you home or back to the car.
  2. One plastic tire lever. The plastic levers are light and won't damage rims or tubes. These usually come in sets of three, but one is enough to get the tire off the rim.
  3. CO2 Inflator with 1 gas cartridge. These devices are very handy, but they're a one shot proposition, so make sure you've got everything in place before you pull the trigger.
  4. Folding mini-tool with 2mm and 8mm hex keys and screwdrivers. This should be more than enough to attend to most minor repairs and adjustments.
  5. Cold, hard cash. A useful tool if you're near a convenience store and feeling depleted or if you feel like swinging by the coffee shop after a ride.
  6. A cell phone. The cell phones serves as a last ditch option if mechanical problems are too big for the mini tool or patch kit. It's also advised to use the phone to alert your significant other if you decide to extend your ride.

If your rides take you deep into sparsely traveled woods where cell service is sketchy, you might be advised to pack your seat-bag something like this.

  1. Full patch kit with glue, sander and levers. The glue-on patches are more durable and reliable than the stick-on variety.
  2. Spare tube. When a tube is badly damaged, sometimes you have no other option but to install a new one.
  3. Hand pump. A hand pump is generally more reliable than a CO2 pump and has the added bonus of allowing you to adjust your tire pressure based on different trail conditions.
  4. Full featured multi-tool. On epic rides far from home it's nice to have a tool with additional options like a knife, spoke wrench and chain tool.
  5. Zip ties and small roll of electrical tape. These two supplies, combined with a little MacGyver spirt, can temporarily fix almost anything that can go wrong with a mountain bike.
  6. Picture ID and health insurance card. If you go big and don't quite make that transition, it's nice for whoever finds you unconscious at the bottom of the mountain to know who you are.

These are just a few suggestions on how to pack a seat-bag. You'll most likely create your own, customized gear combination that's based on your own riding style and the locations of the trails you ride. There is also the consideration of variable bike repair skill. Some riders might have no problem truing a wheel on the side of the trail while others might have trouble getting a clincher off a rim. The main thing is to carry whatever makes you feel confident and comfortable enough to handle any situation on the trail.

Cannondale mountain bikes

Cannondale and Cannondale Mountain Bikes. 5 Useful Tips

Accurate cannondale information is not always easy to find on the Internet.

I struggled to find a reliable source myself, so I decided to collate some tips for you, along with other relevant cannondale mountain bikes information.

I hope that you find them both useful and interesting. I certainly found it fun trying to track all that cannondale research down!

Tip #1

People who consider mountain biking seriously would prefer custom bikes rather than the models that are produced in mass which lines the shelves of the discount shops and departments. A custom bicycle would be designed to fit only one single rider and to fit his exact measurements. A correct fit would improve the experience the rider would have immensely. This means an efficient performance depending on the movement of a person's body. Bicycle produced in mass are usually made in a tiny range of sizes. Getting the exact fit is almost impossible, that would leave the rider with no option other than working hard to compensate on the mismatch of the requirements and resulting in the easier wear out of the bicycle because of improper usage.

Tip #2

A cannondale mountain bike  is driven by the human power. The cycle is run by the two wheels connected by a metal or plastic frame. The typical parts of eth bicycle are wheels, frame, brakes, suspension, seating, carriers, drive train or chains connected between wheels and pedals, steering or handle and other accessories like bells, lights etc.

Tip #3

There are a lot of cannondale mountain  bikes that are purchased and ridden for a summer or two and then left in the basement or garage. What we are looking for is a really nice condition bike---Search and you will find.

Tip #4

As gas prices sky rocket, more and more people are turning to cannondale mountain  bicycles as their primary mode of transportation. A bicycle is a great way to save money, conserve energy, reduce emissions and stay fit., but using your bike during a busy commute to work or on crowded city street can be dangerous, so it is important to closely follow bicycle safety rules and guidelines. In fact, each year, more than half a million bicyclists visit the hospital for bike related injuries, in addition to an estimated one million more who seek treatment for bicycle accidents a in their physician's office. Bike injuries can happen anytime, anywhere. People who think they are safe because they are just going for a short leisurely ride or are planning to stay in the neighborhood are mistaken. On the contrary, most serious crashes occur on quiet neighborhood streets.

Tip #5

It is also a good idea to attach a holder to the cannondale mountain  bike frame and carry a bottle of fresh water, especially if you plan to ride for longer than an hour.

Hope you found these 5 tips useful, as it's not always easy to track accurate information down!

The Internet is full of information about cannondale, but it's not always easy to find stuff that's actually useful - especially where cannondale mountain bikes is concerned. I hope that these tips have been.

Summit special: Mont Blanc by mountain bike
On paper, the figures were meaningless to me. I knew I was about to ride a total of 166km, that the company I'd booked the trip through divided the route into 35km sections over five days, and that it would take us up and over mountain peaks and troughs equalling 9,400 vertical metres of ascent. But I hadn't really worked out what this would amount to in terms of exercise.
