When summer is approaching, the longer days and warmer weather offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy your car on the open road. However even though the threat of extreme bad weather has passed, there are still potential hazards on the roads that can easily catch out an unprepared driver.
Rain is not prevalent during the summer months, and as a result the roads get quite hot. They also collect debris which is not washed from the motorways. Dust, rubber, oil, and other minerals may begin to layer on the roads making them slick for the drivers of summer.
These slippery conditions can worsen after a brief period of rain, when all of the detritus on the road surface mixes with the standing water and the road becomes even more slippery than you would normally expect.
If you are driving after rainfall and the weather has increased in heat you should be cautioned that braking needs to change. You will need more distance to stop. You also need to consider reducing your speed when you go around curves since the grip of the wheels will be less.
Asphalt, after a very hot dry period is worse than just after a short rain. A polished sheen can be seen on the ground as the heat mixes with the tar. The more cars that travel over an area the hotter the road can become.
Warmer weather presents a number of adventures for the driver and it also brings out other potential fun seekers. Families on holiday with their caravans will become more noticeable and they can be a slight disruption in your speed. However, you don't want to irritate them. They belong on the road like you do, thus keeping your cool is appropriate when driving among others trying to have a great holiday like you.
Be aware that many of these drivers will have been travelling for long distances, on roads they are unfamiliar with, possibly distracted by their children or satellite navigation. Be prepared for them to make unexpected manoeuvres without signalling, and factor this into your decision when deciding whether it is appropriate to overtake them, and remember you easily come across a slow moving vehicle mid way through a blind bend.
Research announced that running your headlamps during the day can decrease the chance of an accident by 12 percent. This is due to the fact that other drivers may see you better with the lights on even with sunglasses or patches of shade on the road. There can be a huge contrast between areas of the road with bright sun.
If you are considering running with your Car Lights on during the day it is well worth upgrading your Headlight Bulbs, to maximise their visibility and endurance. One area that your lights will really benefits is by fitting new Sidelight Bulbs, they are simple and easy to fit and are available as either xenon or LED bulbs.
Cycling Sunglasses - Perfect for on and off your Bike
Cycling sunglasses are practical on a number of levels; they protect your eyes from not only increased airflow, but also UV rays, debris and flying insects.
Unlike other sports, cycling has very few accessories that can be worn when you're not on your bike. Footballers are able to wear their shirts away from the pitch, but I don't suppose there are many cyclists who would wear a cycling jersey, or cycling shorts for a trip to the shops! Cycling sunglasses are pretty much the only cycling accessory you can comfortably get away with wearing when you're not on your bike.
With so many different types of cycling sunglasses available, choosing the right pair can be a daunting task and you'll be asking yourself all kinds of questions such as which colour lenses do I want? Which cycling sunglasses would suit me best? Which cycling sunglasses brand do I want to be seen wearing?
Luckily, Sports Shades Online have made it easy by placing all of the cycling sunglasses together in one place so you can see everything available from the top cycling sunglasses brands, Adidas and Oakley.
In a relatively short time, Oakley have become one of the world's leading cycling sunglasses brands. Oakley have a wide range of cycling sunglasses for you to choose from including Oakley Flak Jacket sunglasses, Oakley Jawbone sunglasses, Oakley M Frame sunglasses and many more.
There are many variations of the Oakley Flak Jacket sunglasses available including the Livestrong Flak Jacket special edition cycling sunglasses. The Oakley Flak Jacket Livestrong sunglasses feature Lance Armstrong's favourite Black Iridium lens which cuts down glare and balances light in bright sunlight as well as repelling water and dirt thanks to Oakley's hydrophobic coating.
Also available in Oakley's Livestrong special edition range is the Oakley M Frame Hybrid S model. Decked out in the Lance Armstrong Foundation colours, the interchangeable lens design of M Frame Hybrid S gives excellent protection from sun, wind and side impact. As with the Livestrong Flak Jacket sunglasses, the Livestrong M Frame Hybrid S sunglasses also feature Black Iridium lenses.
Sports Shades Online are Adidas S.V.S. Approved Sports Vision Specialists and the range of Adidas cycling sunglasses available includes Adidas Agilis sunglasses, Adidas Burna cycling goggles, Adidas Evil Eye Pro sunglasses and many more.
Adidas Evil Eye Pro sunglasses include polycarbonate antifog lenses, which means no more steaming up, and are helmet compatible. The Evil Eye Pro lenses are interchangeable so you can adapt to virtually any light condition.
Adidas Agilis sunglasses are ideal for a variety of sports but these multi award winning sunglasses are particularly suited to cycling and mountain biking. These cycling sunglasses feature traction grip, tri-fit quick release temples which click into three different positions so you can click away until you get the fit that is right for you.
If you wear prescription sunglasses there are many options available including direct glazing or prescription inserts for many of the cycling sunglasses available from Sports Shades Online.
With a pair of cycling sunglasses on, you will feel less fatigued, eye strain will be minimised and your cycling session so much more enjoyable than without them.

Schwinn Sierra question?
ok so i am thinking about buying a MTB for this summer, does this seem like a good buy?
the guys selling its description.
Here is an early Taiwan Schwinn Sierra Mountain Bike. The Bike features 4130 Chrome Moly lightweight frame. Lightweight Araya aluminium wheels.Early cantilever brakes. 15 speeds.Shimano Lite Action rear derailleur.Sakae SX aluminium triple front crank.. I removed the rotten tractor tires and replaced them with a premium set of 26x 1.95 Sun Performance Rubber Technology Tires. These tires are hybrid/cross pattern. Smooth quiet ride on pavement with plenty of grip for light trail work. 18 1/2" frame. Nice Arvocet touring saddle.
o and i am about 5ft 11in and 200lbs do you think this bike would fit me size wise? thanks
o and he wants $115 bucks for it
thanks for all the info guys i am going with a Gary Fisher.
I would pass on it and look for a more modern bike. For about the same price or a little more you can get a 21 speed bike with much better V brakes and a lite aluminum frame. You probably want a 20 inch frame.
