Your treasured mountain bike holidays would be ruined if you were not riding the right bike. Bikes meant for mountain holidays are designed to provide a smooth ride over rough and rugged terrains. Mountain bikes are equipped with flat knobby tires and a capacity of extra traction and shock absorption. Previously, mountain bikes had flat straight handlebars. Now the trend has changed and the recent bikes are fitted with riser handlebars. This provides more grip to the rider as he whistles away on the bike enjoying every moment of his craggy holiday.
A Ride On A Mountain Bike Is The Best Part Of The Holiday
Mountain bikers always love to walk on the wild side. They enjoy going for mountain holidays on their machines and getting the opportunity to try out trails that are quite uncommon to the usual on road bikers. Moreover, the culture, scenery and adventure, a biker comes across during a tour of the mountain are indeed splendid. For this and more attractive reasons, several touring companies have come forward to offer tempting mountain bike holiday packages with occasions to lose yourself among the wilderness of nature.
Based on this, numerous mountain bike companies are coming up with attractive tour packages. The companies who have not yet started with the package touring process are hoping soon to be in the line to keep up with the increasing demands of mountain bike tours and holidays.
If you are looking for a mountain bike vacation package, you can also link up with travel agents who offer opportunities lesser than several mountain bike companies. These companies are glad to offer tours both guided and self-guided. Self-guided tours are best for those who find life more adventurous and challenging. On the other hand, guided tours are essential when you are on a mountain tour for the first time or in some hostile land.
In matters of self-guided tours, the company makes all arrangements so that you can well reach the spot where you prefer to take your ride. Thus, you move unguided on the trails. Under such circumstances, you should have the experience and the confidence to combat adverse situations like injuries and breakdowns. You should always carry a map with you and should have some basic knowledge of navigation.
Make sure that you have a proper knowledge of the arrangements before you opt for the tour. If you have prior information about the other people accompanying you on the tour, you can completely prepare yourself from all perspectives.
In some mountain bike tours and holidays, the companies provide excellent bikes for you to choose while others may allow you to carry your own bike for your convenience. Foods may or may not be offered to you in the packages. Whatever the situation may be, it is essential that you be well informed before you are ready to set out on the journey.

Investing in a good mountain bike
Selecting a good quality mountain bike is the most important step in mountain biking. Although it is comparatively more expensive than ordinary bikes, buying a good bike is a must considering the hardships it will be subjected to while venturing out on the hill slopes. These bikes are specially designed to endure a lot of pounding in the process. They are fitted with special tires and suspensions to reduce the stress on the rider and the bike and make the ride comparatively smoother.
Todays Standard Equipment includes front wheel suspension by default.
Now a days more and more bikers are opting for dual suspension bikes, as they are definitely more comfortable than single suspension bike. Similarly bikes with large wheels are also gaining popularity compared to bikes with smaller tires and riser handlebars. Some bikes also have handle bars tha have bar ends for better support.
Basically four categories of Mountain bikes are available in the market. The four categories are A) The fully rigid bike: - these bikes have a fixed rare, no suspensions and have a frame with a fixed fork. B) the Hard tail bike :- it is similar to the fully rigid bike, the only difference is the suspension in the front wheel. C) the Soft tail bike :- it has a frame that offers rear suspension to a certain extent, which is activated by flexing the frame. Pivots are not used here and D) the full or dual suspension bike: - they have suspension fitted on both the front and the rear wheel and pivots are used to move the rear wheel.
Mountain bikes are available in many designs for e.g. cross country (XC), endure/all mountains (AM), free ride (FR), dirt jumping - urban and street, trial, downhill (DH) single speed, and 4-cross racing. The design basically depends on the type of route it's going to be used on.
Mountain biking is reaching new heights today with competitions becoming more and more aggressive. The modern day bikes have been specially modified to suit the rider's requirements. Now a days Mountain bikes have aerodynamic frames - these are lighter but yet very strong. They are fitted with three gears on the front wheel while the next few would be on the back wheel and have speeds varying from 21, 24 even up to 27.

Snowmobile Handlebar Risers and Helmet with Goggles?
So I've seen a lot of people with these handlebar risers for older machines that didn't come with adjustable handlebars. I was wondering if there was any chance that I could possible get some for my machine. I have a 1997 or 1999? Yamaha Mountain Max 700 Triple. Great machine. Does Great in powder and hills but I need some more grab and height for my arms. I was thinking of maybe a 5 or 6 Inch lift. How much and what brand do you recommend? I am also in search of a new helmet with goggles. I have had a full face helmet all of my life and I am so sick of having the helmet fog up. It always does! So I am in search of a new one with the goggles. I am on a very tight budget right now so these things can't be very expensive but they still need to be high quality. It's August right now so I'm preparing for this coming winter. All help would be appreciated. Thanks.
