No Fear Downhill Mountain Biking Sale Price: $9.40 |
|
Pedal power meets polygons in this no-holds-barred cycling experience. Not just another racing game, this title successfully captures the essence and devil-may-care style of competition mountain bike racing. The menu screens feature clanging guitars and jolting graphics that put you in the mood for adrenaline-rushing action. Once you hit the slope, you'll immediately encounter high-speed rough-and-tumble racing featuring huge jumps and varied terrain. From riverbeds to steep city roads, No Fear Downhill Mountain Bike Racing is filled with challenging race environments. While the graphics aren't as crisp as they could be, the speed is certainly here, and when players switch to a behind-the-handlebars viewpoint they'll know what it's like to tread the thin line between fear and control. Six riders are available, each flaunting personality and different strengths. Upgrades such as lighter frames or better tires are awarded after beating three separate opponents on each track. A strength meter decreases after holding the pedal button down for long periods of time. Players will learn to let the bike coast on downhill segments, supplying the riders with bursts of strength for pedaling on flat or uphill segments. This strategy, mixed with the visceral thrill of racing, makes No Fear Downhill Mountain Bike Racing an exhilarating experience. --Jeff Young Pros: Cool riders, each sporting the latest outfits and bikes Precise control Variety of levels keeps the gameplay fresh Cons: Blurry graphics can make distinguishing terrain changes difficult |

Many amateur cyclists dream of taking their passion to the next level and joining a bike racing team. But before this can be done there are some very important considerations that must understood first. Here is what you need to know before joining a bike racing team.
Riding a bike for pleasure and biking as a member of a competitive team are very different. Once a person joins a team there is an important commitment that is made where other team members will depend on you. It is important to be prepared to fulfill this commitment responsibly.
Participating on a competitive team also takes a lot out of the individual both physically and mentally. The stress of the race, inclement weather conditions and the physical hardships all compound to make bike racing challenging enough. There are certain things which you must be aware of before embarking on a professional journey. Here is a quick checklist of what you should know before joining a bike racing team.
The first prerequisite before joining a bike racing team is that you should be sure about your decision of taking up the sport at a highly competitive level. This decision will be prompted by your love for the game. Do not get carried away with a quick emotional decision and be prepared to think carefully before you make the final decision.
Before joining a bike racing team, you need to know the basics of the sport very thoroughly. You also need to work on your entire body and especially on developing your muscle strength. For that you might need to work under the supervision of an expert physical trainer. You can also train under a professional cyclist who knows the requirements of the game better than anybody else.
Like every many other sports, a bike racing team is also comprised of specialists. Each member of the team works to his strength. It will be important to know what your strength is.
For example there are cyclists who are good at riding the bike uphill and therefore good mountain bikers. There are time trial specialists who have a good timing and therefore can cover a lot of distance within a minimum time. There are some riders of the team who are known as domestiques. These are the ones who form a kind of shield against aggressive cyclists from the opponent teams.
Each of these players work in cooperation with the other and under the able guidance of the captain makes their team successful in a competition. Therefore you should be aware of your strength as a cyclist and consequently look for a place in the local bike racing team.
There are different kinds of bike racing like mountain bike racing, cycle speedway, cyclo-cross, road bicycle racing, bike trials, BMX racing and track cycling.
At present even amateur bike racing has gained immensely in terms of popularity. Amateur riders often come together to form a team of their own. All the leading teams in the professional cycling circuit have to register themselves with the Union Cycliste Internationale that has introduced a rating system to judge the teams in the circuit.
Do not expect to be spotted by bigger and better teams in the professional circuit at the very beginning of your career. It is only when you perform well constantly that you would be able to establish a name for yourself. Expecting too much in the initial stages can cause great disappointment when you fail to fulfill what you had set out to achieve.

Different Types Of Mountain Bikes
With mountain biking being a very popular sport, there are many bikes to choose from. Depending on what type of riding you like, the style of bikes you can choose from will vary. Below, you'll find tips on the different types of bikes available.
1. Cross country
Almost all mountain bikes will fit into this category. Cross country mountain bikes are light weight, making them easy to ride over most terrains, even up and down hills. This is the most common mountain bike and it can be used with ease for riding on the path or even commuting.
2. Downhill
These types of bikes are for serious bikers who crave the ultimate adventure. Downhill bikes have front and rear suspension, strong parts, and disc brakes. Rarely available off the shelf, most riders like to custom build their own.
3. Trials
Trail mountain biking involves a great degree of skill and is classified as the precision riding of the sport. Similiar to downhill bikes, trial riders will often build their own bikes rather than purchase one off a shelf. Generally very light and very strong, these bikes require a lot of discipline.
4. Jump and slalom
Slalom and jump bikes are very strong and designed for jumping, street racing, and slalom. They offer a front suspension and use very strong components dedicated to what they do. These bikes are very popular with the sport of mountain biking.
Even if you are new to mountain biking, the sport can be a lot of fun. There are several bikes to choose from, all of which depend on your style. If you are still looking for the best style for you, all you have to do is try out several bikes and see which one suites you the best.
