Most New Yorkers think California is a wasteland when it comes to pizza. But that's just because they have a narrow definition. The pizza restaurants here are as good as any, but it can be challenge to find your kind of pie if you grew up on the east coast.
If you're looking for pizza that's lighter, fresher, and more original, this is the place. Since Los Angeles isn't a city as much as a collection of cities, you'll probably have to drive to try more than one kind. So put the top down and have some fun.
If you only plan to visit one pizza restaurant in Southern California, make is Pizzeria Mozza, the joint venture of Mario Batali, Nancy Silverton, and Joseph Bastianich. There aren't many seats and it's not cheap. But they do take reservations, so if you book in advance, you won't have to wait. There are so many temptations here that it's hard to come and just order pizza. The chopped salad is fantastic, and the appetizers, which include fried zucchini blossoms and baked artichokes, are incredible. Have one of the pizzas with house-made salumi - the guanciale is especially good. Cooked in a wood-fired oven, they're chewy, charred, and crispy, all at the same time. Save room for Butterscotch Budino, one of the best desserts ever. It comes with pine nut/rosemary cookies and it's bathed in caramel sauce.
Venice is a fun, ocean-front neighborhood with a laid-back, beach town vibe. There are a couple of good pizzerias here. Abbot's Pizza Company is best known for their crust, which is made with bagel dough. It comes in sesame, onion, or garlic variety. With five kinds of onions, and four kinds of mushrooms, Abbot's is a good choice for vegetable lovers. Sauces include tomato, alfredo, olive pesto, and garlic pesto.
Ed Ladou used to make pizzas at Spago, and helped California Pizza Kitchen create their original menu. Now, he has his own place, Caioti Café, in Studio City. And it serves some of the most inventive pies anywhere. His pizza toppings include white truffle oil, lobster sausage, oysters, crab, scallops, and Gruyere cheese. If you're not feeling like pizza, there are bistro dishes like crispy chicken on the menu too.
Casa Bianca Pizza Pie in Eagle Rock has been in business since 1955. One former customer, Barrack Obama, used to eat there when he was a student at Occidental College. With checked tablecloths, a 1950s-style neon sign, and a no credit card policy, it's an old-fashioned place, through and through. The menu includes Italian American classics like Chicken Parm and Chicken Piccata, and the dining room is always full. If you like an old-school pizza with a flavorful red sauce and lots of cheese, try Casa Bianca.
Actress Cathy Moriarty was one of those grumbling New Yorkers who couldn't find a pizza in L.A. that suited her fancy. So she opened Mulberry Street Pizzeria in the ritzy neighborhood of Beverly Hills. The most popular pie here is the white pizza with ricotta cheese and spinach. There are only seven tables, but you can buy by the slice and take one to go.
Antica Pizzeria in Marina del Rey makes the most authentic Pizza Napoletana in Southern California. The owner, Peppe Miele, hails from Campania and he's a member of the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association. Try the Margherita, Capricciosa, or the Quatro Stagioni.

MLM company that is using old-school network marketing techniques?
Are you currently in an MLM company that is using old-school network marketing techniques?
You know, the 3 foot rule hanging flyers booking your family and friends, and holding hotel meetings renting out conference halls, doing the same old Rah' Rah' Sis Boom Bah. Better known as the let's get hyped party. Let me start by telling you about my experiences is like taking a whole bunch of crazed dogs.
Hyping them up with HGH and red bull. After you get a little bit of that in your system and your ready to run through a brick walls all day like Adrian Peterson.
Well I'm here to tell you that crap doesn't work anymore.
To be quite frank with you I'm not sure that stuff ever worked for anyone that's trying to make a serious buck in the network marketing industry. Just let me give you a brief synopsis on my journeys in network marketing. I know that when I first joined my first network marketing company,
I was told to use the same techniques.
I was told to make a list of 100 people that I knew and basically call everyone of them to ask and see if they would be interested in making some extra money. Sure enough, to my surprise I was bombarded with questions I wasn't able to answer, getting hung up on and faced with nothing but pure rejection.
Which in turn made me sick to my stomach, it was almost like a pain that you get when you're asking out that pretty girl that all the other guys are trying to take out to the prom dance. And when you finally work up enough nerve to ask her out.
Either she's going to smash your heart and say no. Or, just let you down easy with excuses like I'm sick, or I'm not going to be able to make it and the famous one oh' I'm just going to go with my girlfriends.
Just to find that when you get to the dance, she's dancing with one of the guys from the meathead click. Like I said purer utter rejection.
When I was officially shunned by everyone that I knew, all my up line told me to do was to go out and buy some opportunity leads. Obviously this only led me to some more rejection and spending a bunch of money that I didn't have suspended in the first place.
What a drag!
I was furiously frustrated with anger, now that I was out of money and I had nothing to show for it. Then, just as I was going to give up. I found what I consider to be the lifesaver for my business. This lifesaver that I speak of was the Mike Dillard's seven day free video boot camp.
In the seven video series might explain how I could attract an endless stream of prospects to me ready to join, and actually get paid to prospect.
These videos have really changed the way I work my business, and I think that it would be a help to anyone that is veteran within the marketing industry. Weatherbee it a network marketing, MLM, or direct sales.
This is definitely believed to be the blueprint that will take the experienced and non-experienced entrepreneur, to the next level of business, because without attraction or should I say, if you're not magnetic. No one will want to gravitate to you or your business opportunities and concepts.
These same principles are used in business as well as your personal life. In order to get that prom date you're looking for, be it a handsome young man or that lovely young lady that you're looking for. You must be magnetic.
Are you a network marketer that has what it takes to attract prospects to your business?
You need to stand out from the rest by finding you're main ingredient. That key component you need to add to your personality that will make you attractive, and once you have achieved the art form of attractiveness.
You will have the ability to attract anyone, anywhere, anytime, anyplace. And with these lifelong lessons will create balance and give you a shift of power.
Instead of you being the one that once was rejected, you will NOW become the rejector
