The Nintendo Wii has found a massive following, despite the fact that it focuses far more on imaginative use of the controller than on graphics (which are central to the Xbox and PS3 offering). Or perhaps this games have been successful because they use such basic graphics? The kids that grew up on first generation games consoles are now earning their own cash and buying their own little slices of otherworldly gaming experience, and a big part of the appeal in is the old-school look and features. Today we check out some of the games that will be most successful in taking players on a trip back down memory lane, from Super Mario to Tetris!
Super Mario Bros for Wii
You can still have up to 4 players, it's still a neat traditional platform style game, and even those little brown gremlins look the same! On an Xbox, you'd expect Mario and Luigi to almost look like real plumbers, but this Wii game has a satisfying aura of authenticity about it. There are some cool new features - but it is a very familiar Wii game overall.
EA Sports Active
Even those of us that didn't have games consoles (or any substantial complement of games) for much of our childhood will remember the PC-based version of EA Sports. The new Wii game version is pretty radically changed, simply by the inclusion of the Wiimote and Motionplus sensors. There are a few major changes, like the inclusion of a personal trainer (not really appropriate when you have to sit at a desk chair!), and games like dancing and inline skating, but still very true to form.
Mario Kart Wii
Show me a 30-year old that can resist buying the Mario Kart Wii game, and I'll show you a man or woman of steel! There are personalized Mii characters, 16 new courses, and even a range of different controller options. You can compete with up to 11 other drivers from around the world via an internet hookup - a feature barely imaginable when the original SNES version was released.
Resident Evil 4
There's nobody to stop us playing 'survival horror' genre before bed nowadays! The game has a more 'immersive' controlling style - you can use the Wiimote to aim, slash and fire things. Apparently the Wii game version is "what the original game wanted to be".
Tetris Party
So simple... so addictive! If you have ever gone to bed at night with imaginary Tetris blocks floating in your mind's eye, you'll love the new Tetris party Wii game. There are quite a few new single player and multiplayer versions of the game, however they all retain their innate Tetris-ness. How could they not?
Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess
This action and adventure game really evolves with its Wii game incarnation, just like Resident Evil, into the game it was always supposed to be. Another game where you can certainly notice the difference between the Wii's graphics and the Xbox's, but perhaps all the more charming because of that!
Punch-Out!
The Wii game of Punch Out is surprisingly similar to the original... apart from the striking difference of the controller, of course! You combine motion control of the punch with motion-stick fine-tuned controls, creating hooks and jabs. It's simple, but a great party Wii game.

Cincinnati Schools' Environmentally Sound Building Featured in National Education Magazine
Cincinnati Schools' Green Renovation
Cincinnati School's has in effect a long term $1 billion building project that will help to renovate and rebuild many of its older buildings. One Cincinnati School 's elementary school, Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, has been recently featured in District Administration. This national magazine focuses on issues in K-12 education. The article from the August issue discusses the growing concern and interest in green building and environmentally friendly construction. The article states that even though the upfront cost can be more the long term benefits of green construction are quite clear. The construction of Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School is not only a gain for green construction strategies but it also teaches the students important lessons about the environment and responsibility.
Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School will be the first LEED School in Cincinnati Schools upon its completion. The LEED Green Building Rating System was devised by the U.S. Green Building Council which has helped Cincinnati Schools write its new building plans and codes. The article refers to the work of Ginny Frazier as one of the major influences on the Pleasant Ridge Elementary School project. A private citizen who lives in the area, Frazier is the head of a local group that advocates environmentally friendly building. She went to the Cincinnati Schools' authorities and administrators with proposals on how the school in her neighborhood could be rebuilt using green materials and environmentally friendly tactics. Some of the ideas she proposed included according to the article, "geothermal heating so the new building uses the earth's temperature for cooling and heating, using natural building materials, noxious-free cleaning products and art supplies, as well as natural water filtration systems."
The article discusses the five key areas that the Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School project uses innovative techniques or old-fashioned common sense to improve the building design. The Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School project will improve the lighting of the schools in several ways. The lights will feature sensors that will automatically turn off lights in unoccupied rooms. Currently Cincinnati's City Hall is using a similar system that has greatly reduced energy costs. The Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School will also have photovoltaic panels, which convert solar energy into electricity. Saving energy with heating and cooling systems is also a concern. All the new and renovated Cincinnati Schools will have central air systems. The article states that, "Air conditioned classrooms prevent pollution from outside, and in the end, help asthmatic children breathe easier, he says. And moisture from hot, humid days can also cause ceiling pads to buckle or gym floors to sag"
Another area the article talks about is indoor air pollution. Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School project is using less carpet in the design in order to help reduce pollutants indoors. Plans for reducing the amount of water use in the Cincinnati Schools' would also be based on sensors that detect movement around sinks and toilets. The article comments on the concerns that the Cincinnati Schools' Pleasant Ridge Elementary School project has in this area. The main concern is in using faucets that have an automatic shut off system or a push button system.

My dog will pee on the pads everytime, but how can I get her to poop on the pad too?
I have to go to school during the day, so I leave my 2 year old pug loose in the house and put down pee pads for her to use. When I come home, the pad usually has pee on it, but she leaves turds where ever she wants. I even leave down another pad in a different place, in case she doesnt want to pee and poo in the same place. What should I do to show her I want her to poop on the pads too?
Place some of his poop on the pads, and then show it to him. After you show it to him, give hima treat. Do this a few times, and he will get the idea
