This short article explains in a couple of minutes how an electric bike works. The basic anatomy of an electric bike is similar to a normal bike. You have the basic frame, handlebars, saddle, pedals and wheels in the usual places.
Two major components are then added - the motor and the battery. Besides the main frame, they're the heaviest part of an electric bicycle so they're situated low down either slung between the top and down tube or immediately behind the saddle.

Manufacturers and dealers often skimp over the fact that best battery performance (which they give in their specs) is less and less likely with age, hot or cold weather and depending on how often the battery is charged.

Why do the Renault Clio's rear wheels lock up!!!?
Here's the story.
I had a 2000 Renault Clio 1.2 MTV. I washed it, then left it in the driveway for a week. Got in it, to catch the ferry and it wouldn't move!!! It was as if the handbrake was still on. After a few hours of wondering what the hell to do, i had to jack the car up, take the back wheels off and hammer at the hubs. Then a few sharp blasts of acceleration and they finally freed.
Now I have a 2004 Clio, just back from a week in Spain and guess what? Same problem. BUT it's parked half on a kerb at the edge of a main road.

over a period of time ( and often not too long ) any car's brakes can seize on , usually the handbrake ( mostly operated by shoes inside drums in the rear wheels ) . try 'jerking' it using throttle and letting the clutch out, and the problem will go.
