Most of us refrain from buying second hand and used bikes because we believe we are not smart enough to pick the right one. If you also think this, do not just sit back and waste money on new and expensive bikes, rather try to master the art of choosing the right used bike for you. Used bikes are better, if chosen properly, because they save your money and offer something exactly of your choice.
Used BMX bikes are available in different models, sizes and colors. In order to choose one, be sure of your requirements. First decide the features that you would want your bike to have. For instance, different bikes have different features depending on the needs and requirements they have been designed for. If you need a bike for hiking and riding through the thick jungles, then the requirements of the features will be likewise, on the other hand if you need bike to have a ride to school and back home, then the features should differ. Once you are sure what your need is, then it is easy to spot some cycles that fall under the same category.
The frame of the cycle comes next, check if the frame is what would be comfortable for you or not. After you find a cycle which has the frame that you have been looking for, see if the tube of the frame is made for you or not. If you have a tall height, then chances are that you would feel more comfortable if the tube is longer, whereas if the tube is shorter than it is likely to satisfy your needs if your short in height.
The most important part of the buying the bike comes when you check the wheels. Go for wheels, which are good for rough and tough riding. Stronger wheels are needed so that you can ride through anywhere and any surface. Double wall rims are ideal for you because they keep the wheels safe. Next, you can check if its chain is fixed properly or not. Even if it is not, ask the buyer to fix it for you before buying it. Keeping these things in mind on the purchase of used bikes will help you save money and be a winner for choosing the best.

Unforgettable School Shows
If your school PTA or student council has been wracking their brains trying to find a unique way to present topics of safety, drug awareness or other relevant educational program at your school, then why not suggest school shows that are guaranteed to generate interest?
What, guarantee interest in school shows or assemblies? You got it. What do kids like to see today? Feats of daring… action…. awe-inspiring skills. What better way to give them what they want besides an extreme BMX bicycle stunt show? School shows that offer kids of all ages something to rivet their attention while at the same time delivering a message is a sure fire way to get that message remembered. It doesn't matter whether you want your school assembly or extracurricular club or group gathering to hear about drug awareness or bicycle safety, school shows are the way to go.
For elementary age school kids especially, bicycle safety is a big issue with not only parents but school faculty as well. Trying to get kids to wear helmets and protective gear is a constant battle for many. Providing school shows that display professional BMX stunt teams wearing protective gear is a great way to show kids that it's not only smart to wear a helmet, but cool also, especially when that helmet is signed by a professional extreme BMX stunt rider. Take the message, and the action, to kids of all ages with school shows that will interest, not bore them.
Engaging young minds these days has grown more difficult, but by providing them what they want most (action and excitement) with a message that they need to know (safety and awareness) can prove to be a challenge, but is not impossible. It just takes a little planning. School shows are a great way to get large groups of kids interacting with friends, teachers and professional members of extreme sports shows that will keep them talking for a long while to come.

what type of bike is good for me?
I currently ride a cheap Wal-Mart BMX bike that is a few years old.
Its pretty decent but it is starting to rust and isnt exactly comfortable for the 5 or so miles I ride to high school every morning and evening
I only bought it cause it was the cheapest thing they had and I reeeaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyy needed a bicycle. Now I finally saved enough for something good.
Saved $400
the bmx was $89
To use a bicycle to go to school or just ridin' around the town doesn' reqire those shiny expensive bicycles. Just visit a bike shop and look for decent bicycles. Ask the guys there for some help.
I use my bicycle to go to school, library, etc. and I ride a $150 MTB. Mountain bikes go fine on streets. You may also try Road Bikes or simply Comfort/Beach Cruiser Bikes.
Hope I helped you.
