One thing I've noticed with this new wheelset is that the wheels don't spin as long freely as the old wheelset. When I took out the skewers from the old wheelset I noticed that it was greased up. Should I do this with the new wheelset skewer too? Would I do it for the FRONT and REAR wheels?
Which type of grease should I use, since I know there are different grades of grease from thin to thick? Thanks.
My old wheels were Easton Circuits and the new ones are the 2008 Mavic SLs.
Mavic does say there is a break in period for sealed bearings.
I have never greased a skewer in 40 years and it has never been a problem.
