One of the most important aspects of working out is choosing the appropriate workout attire that will be comfortable during the exercise you are doing. A lot of this is personal preference depending upon what is comfortable to you. You can't just look at your workout buddy's gym attire and then buy the same things they have unless you truly know that those same garments will be okay for you. There are a few things that will help you keep from having to go through the hassle of returns.
One of the first things you want to look at is fabrics that will move moisture out away from your body which will keep you dry and comfortable for long and sweaty workouts. If you are doing high impact aerobics or running you will want a fabric that will remove moisture as well so that you will stay as dry as possible. This type of apparel will be more expensive but it will be well worth it. If you aren't going to be working out so hard that you sweat a lot then you can go with a blend of polyester, cotton, and spandex.
The next thing we want to look at now that we know the appropriate fabrics is how to choose the right cuts that will be good for the activities you are doing. If you live in an area where it is cool and you will be exercising outdoors you will want to buy the exercise apparel in layers that you can remove as you heat up and tie them around your waist or place in a light backpack. The clothing layer that is next to your skin should be either long sleeve or a tank top depending upon the weather and temperature. You may choose to wear a sweatshirt over the first layer which can then be topped off with an all weather jacket if you are going to be in rain, sleet, or snow.
As far as pants go there are a great number of choices in pants that wick moisture and some of them even come in thermal styles to help keep you warm which can be worn by themselves or with another layer. If you are training in the cold be sure to wear a cap or hat to keep your head warm, much of our body heat is lost through the head when it is cold.
If you are training or exercising in a commercial gym or in your own home it is also smart to dress in layers so that you can remove clothing as you warm up. When weightlifting or doing aerobics especially a t-shirt can become tight and rigid due to being wet and will give you some skin irritation. If you dress in layers you will always be comfortable no matter what climate you are in.

Using Cycling Jerseys on a More Extended Cycling Expedition
When a person who goes on a bike tour dresses for weather conditions that are not likely to change in the course of a single day, it is not to difficult to choose proper clothes, but what would happen if you were on a more extended cycling expedition? Then, you should definitely know something about the way layered cycling jerseys help you protect the body in both cold and hot weather. With the modern technological advantages, bikers no longer have to wear too thick clothes that hinder movement and cause discomfort. Made of very soft and light fabric, cycling jerseys ensure a good air flow that leads to the elimination of moisture.
Experts in the field claim that the cycling jerseys that are worn directly on the skin absorb sweat and spread it evenly on their entire surface; unlike some other materials that accumulate and retain humidity, the synthetic compounds of modern tops allow immediate evaporation. For the base layering, short sleeved cycling jerseys are highly recommended, with easy to use zippers and anatomic shapes. Wool cycling jerseys used to be worn in the past as part of the mid-thermal layer, the one responsible for the preservation of the body warmth. Fleece materials have assumed this role in recent years as they don't allow any exchange from the exterior to the interior.
On windy cold weather, thermal jackets are used as the outward protection layer; this is the one that comes over regular cycling jerseys, this layer usually includes wind stopping materials such as goretex or its older variant G-tex. Cycling jerseys are responsible for the body protection of both torso and arms; therefore it is extremely important that you feel very comfortable in such apparel items. Make sure that you always buy the right size prevent hinder motion easiness.
Though you may be inclined to use a multipurpose isolating jacket for a bike ride, you may be disappointed by the results since they cannot match normal cycling jerseys. The main problems lies not in the material quality or design, but in the size, since most such casual wear jackets are overbuilt for biking. Furthermore, cycling jackets also include reflecting items for safe bike riding in the evening or on foggy weather, which represent significant details that you'd miss when using a normal outfit. Have a look over the cycling apparel catalogs to make up your mind about which clothes to use in both cold and hot weather; most such promotional materials will also provide useful information on price and product features.

Are cycling jersey's unisex? Please read need help!?
I am having some trouble with ordering cycling jersey's for me and my boyfriend. Most of these jerseys on this website seem just for men and does not say if are for women too. Below is an example of a site my boyfriend has ordered from but seems not to accomodate women.

Anyway, are the jersey pants and tops different between men and women?
Cycling clothing is not unisex. Think of it, the only "unisex" items are loose and baggy. Cycling specific clothing is form fitting and has to be comfortable.
Jerseys for ladies are made narrower in the shoulders and with shorter sleeves. I haven't seen any with darts (but that doesn't mean there aren't any). Designers attempt to make them in colors more pleasing to women.
Shorts, besides the obvious size difference, have different shaped padding/chamois in the crotch area, and the leg length is usually 7 inch vs. 9 inch for guys. The leg length is a complaint factor among some women.
If you are female go to the bike shop(s) and see that the men's and women's clothing are segregated. Then try on some of the women's clothing and see how the fit so much better.
Post-traumatic snow syndrome: Prepare now for winter's wrath
Just in time, we're here to help you get ready for that first significant snow, which happened on Dec. 19 last year but has occurred as early as Oct. 18 (in 1972). So put down the log-splitter and read up on how to be prepared.
