measuring tidal speed which is easer?
i'm doing a tidal speed flow meter wit input to a data logger for my project at uni (i'm doing electronics if it helps). I have narrowed it down to 2 methods doppler effect and ultra sonics which is easier to implement and which has easier maths what would you recommend?
Surely flow rate would vary with depth and position and how would you cater for this unless you use an array of any such probes.So maybe it's a matter of cost,interpretation and complexity.Would doppler or ultrasonics cover the variations best?
