Bicycle chainrings work by transferring energy coming from the pedals to the wheels at a stationary pace, allowing the rider to control the speed of the bicycle. They have between 20 to 60 teeth on the edges that fit into gaps between each link in a bicycle chain and are located fitted around the spider. Bolts or screws then fasten chainrings to wheels to secure them.
Chainring options: kinds and materials
There are classic, spoked, and disc chainrings you can choose from. Ideal for light bicycles, classics are made up of single rings with empty middles, with four bolt holes on the rim. Spoked chainrings, on the other hand, have outer and inner rings secured by four or five spokes normally fitted over the spider. While they add strength to bicycles, a wrong-fitting one will slow down pedaling. As for discs, they are solidly constructed, featuring a small hole to be fitted over the spider. They are the most durable around although they are not recommended for use in racing because strong pedaling can crack the discs.
When it comes to materials, you can choose among aluminum, steel, or titanium chainrings. Aluminum ones are the cheapest, fairly durable but still not strong enough to live through collisions. Since they are lightweight, they are best for beginners and recreational riders. As for steel chainrings, they are used by mid-range professionals and racers who can handle their weight since they are heavier than aluminum and titanium chainrings. However, their weight means that they are tough, able to handle collisions very well. Lighter than steel but slightly heavier than aluminum, titanium chainrings allow easy and fast pedaling which makes them ideal for all sorts of bicycles. However, they cost more so they are normally reserved for more high-end bicycles, although it actually takes less titanium to make a chainring because titanium is very dense.

Functions of dental Implant
Dental Implants are root-shaped, metal anchors that are embedded under the gums and supported by jaw bone.The Immediate Function procedure with Nobel Biocare implants is clinically proven and the success rates are similar to those of conventional implant protocols. The results from these studies show that Immediate Function is possible in all oral regions and the following should be considered when performing the treatment.
Implant Body - It is a portion of implant system within the bone.
Cover Screw - It seals the occlusal surface of the implant during osseointrgration( the interface between the alloplastic material and the living tissue)
Healing Abutment - It is a cover attathed to the implant which is used to maintain the opening through the tissue until the restoration is completed.
Abutments - They are the components of the implant system that screw directly into the implant.There are diiferent types of abutments available like standard, fixed, angled, tapered and nonsegmented.
Impresssion Posts - They are the component used during the impression procedure to transfer the position of the implant to the cast.
Lab Analog - Made to represent exactly the top of the implant fixture in the laboratory cast.
Waxing Sleeves - They are attatched to the abutment by the relating screw on the laboratory model.
Prosthesis Retaining Screw - Screw used to secure a screw- retained metal framework.
Common Types of Dental Implants :
Root-Form Titanium Implant
Of all the types of dental implants, the root-form titanium dental implant is the most common. This option is also known as an endosseous or endosteal implant, a name that stems from the fact that these tooth implants are placed directly in the bone. Root-form implants are made of the reliably strong and corrosion-resistant metal titanium, making these dental implants very similar in appearance to screws, nails, or cones.
Sub-Periosteal Implant : The sub-periosteal implant is commonly used in patients who do not have enough bone in the jaw to support a root-form implant. Sub-periosteal tooth implants are placed over the jaw, rather than in it.
Plate-Form Implant : This category of dental implant consists of a rectangle of metal with either one or two metal prongs on one side. Plate-form implants are placed vertically in the jaw so that the prongs stick up into the mouth and provide a place for the artificial tooth to be placed.
Ramus-Frame Implant : Commonly used in patients with a thin lower jawbone, ramus-frame tooth implants are placed in the jaw at the back of the mouth and near the chin.
Transosseous Implant : Used only in the lower jaw, transosseous tooth implants are bolted onto the jawbone and extend along the entire bottom half of the mouth. This dental implant configuration is rarely used.
Materials for Dental Implants : Different materials are used for dental implants but in dentistry most commonly used dental implant is of Titanium as it is most compatible witht he dental tissues and inert. The various materials used for dental implants are as under.
* Titanium
* Tantalum
* Alloys of titanium/ aluminium/ vanadium
* Cobalt,/ chromium/ molibidnum
* Aluminium oxide
* Carbon
* Silicon rubber
* PMMA( polymetyhl methacrylate)
* Polyetyhlane

There are good places to try to save weight on a bike, this is not one of them. If a stem bolt fails, someone usually gets hurt.
