What Are the Benefits of an Exercise Bike?

I cant clear some of the really long bike jumps at the bmx race track. is there a technique to going higher and farther?
As long as the lip is well-constructed and in good shape, the next most important factor is speed. Good basic technique will make your launches better, and since you're on a bmx frame you can be pretty assured that you can max out the jump potential on just about any lip. 
)
Practice your fast-as-you-can approaches on small jumps first unless you're already comfortable with launches and landings. If you flub it up with extra speed, at least you won't have as far to fall. Roll into the ramp fast, then about one bike length away, put your lead foot forward and square up your body/bike with the lip. As you roll up to the lip, force your body weight down HARD onto the pedals and grips...with the right timing, when you let up you'll get some extra height. By doing the bunnyhop motions at the same time you can get even more.
So when you get good with the timing, add as much speed as you can for the size of the jump (you don't necessarily want to overshoot the transition).
Keep at it....wear the helmet and pads and jump like a salmon. You'll figure it out soon. )
