Unlike freestanding houses condominiums lack any distinguishing feature to separate it from the rest. So when the time comes to sell the condo then you may be unable to set it apart from the rest of the competition. Furthermore as it is a condo you probably cannot undertake any large remodeling activities. It is at times like this that you can try and reinvent the insides of the condo.
Try to make the inside of the condo more inviting and cozy so that people notice a difference even though it actually isn't there. One of the best ways you can distinguish the condo from the others is by the use of light. Condo lighting can improve the resale value and appearance of your condo drastically. It can help to change the environment and feel of the condo and all this without having to break down walls.
As most condos are built in a similar fashion there are a few situations that are likely to arise when you plan your condo lighting. Condos generally have large open spaces that are present and visible as soon as you enter. This space lacks any sort of focus and is not comforting to a buyer.
You can easily break up this area with the use of light by focusing the light on certain spaces, this helps to break the space without the actual need to build an artificial wall or divide.
The use of track lighting or monorail lighting can be used if you have high or slanted ceilings. If you have short hallways you can make it look longer by adding an accent light. A dark hallway can definitely use recessed lights where the light is focused and directs the light to the floor. You may also just need to modify the feel of the room by using brighter lights or dimmer lights to create the right mood. This is because when the condo was built very little attention is paid to the lighting.
To fix this problem look around for areas in the condo that has poor lighting and can be easily be fixed with the help of brighter lighting or fluorescent lights. Take for example the kitchen, it is more inviting to have a brightly lit kitchen, even if the kitchen is bright it is a good idea to use cabinet lighting as it reduces the shadow and creates an aura of a larger space. Even lighting along your long walls or staircase wall can make a lot of difference. The use of sconces can add a striking look to the otherwise empty space. It is also good to use lights with dimmers whenever possible as then the light can be altered to suit the time of day and the mood.

Kitchen Track Lighting For Easier Cooking
Kitchen track lighting can be used to brighten up areas of your kitchen that would otherwise be in shadow. Track lighting also gives your kitchen a fashionable look. If you are considering this type of lighting, you will find that it has more advantages than disadvantages.
Track lighting serves several purposes. First, it focuses light on areas where you would otherwise be working in your own shadow. These are areas that may be under the shadow of the kitchen cabinets. You might need light to wash up and clean vegetables at the sink, for example. You will need illumination to cook. You will need to see well enough for you and your family to eat. You or your kids may even do work at the kitchen table. The lights can be focused on those areas to help. This is called task lighting.
Kitchen Track Lighting May Need Several Layers of Light
One complaint against track lighting is that it does not cover the entire kitchen. You probably need several layers of light, especially if you have a larger kitchen. You may need a fixture that will put out a more diffused light to cover the entire kitchen area with ambient light. Then you can have under-counter lights, and your well-focused track lights. Another source of light you might consider is over-counter lights, where you put track lighting above kitchen cabinets and below the ceiling. This gives a warm glow to the room and makes its ceiling seem higher.
To place the track lighting properly, you need to be aware of the bright and dark spots in your kitchen. Light will almost seem to disappear against dark surfaces if you do not light them adequately. On the other hand, a very light or white surface may cause glare if you over-illuminate it.
Use the Same Company for All the Parts of a Single Fixture
There are two different kinds of track lighting. On free form tracks, the number of light cans and where they are situated on the track can be easily changed. You can add more heads if you need more light. You can also change out the heads for a different color when you redecorate. One word of caution is that you need to use the same company for all the parts of a single fixture. They will not work on other brands' products. With fixed form tracks, you can only turn the heads around; they are fixed permanently to the track. However, the fixed form variety is the most popular form.
Track lighting is easy to install. You just need the contents of the lighting kit and access to a junction box. Sometimes this problem can be solved by installing them in the place of old light fixtures. The lights are not heavy, but you may need someone to help you hold them in place, especially if they are fairly long tracks. A dimmer switch is a good idea on any kitchen light fixture.
Kitchen track lighting is a good choice if you want flexibility in your lighting fixtures. You can change the direction so that the lights shine on different surfaces and areas. In fact, you can change them at a moments notice. They can easily brighten up areas that are quite a distance away from the light. For all these reasons, track lighting for your kitchen is a great idea.

Aluminium or Steel for a track bike frame?
I'm looking to buy a track frame to use for a fixed gear bicycle, mainly just for riding around town, I might race someday though. I know aluminium is supposed to give a much harsher ride, but I'm unlikely to be using it for really long rides, so I was wondering if it was significantly lighter than a good cro-mo frame. I'm really into the whole urban fixie look. All that said, however I'll probablly end up buying whatever is the cheapest track frame on ebay, seeing as I don't have a lot of money, but if I do have a choice, which should I pick, aluminium or steel?
You should know there are many subtle differences between a "track" bike and "road" bike converted to fixed gearing. While it is possible to ride a "track" bike on the road, the configuration is not really ideal.
For one, it is tough to install a brake or brakes on a track bike. Only the most die-hard fixie fans go on real roads with real cars and pedestrians without at least a front brake. So, I suggest you go for a road bike converted for a fixed gear rather than a track bike.
Anyhow, many track bikes are made of steel. Since climbing isn't a big concern with track racing, weight is not critical as it is for road riding. Steel is a strong, but flexible metal. Aluminum does not have the give of steel so it has a different, stiffer ride quality. An aluminium frame, however, will almost always be lighter unless you get some seriously high-tech, artisan made, expensive steel frame. An aluminium frame with a carbon fork will provide a nice ride. Since you will be climbing in real life riding, I'd go for an aluminium frame.
