Beach Cruiser Bikes are definitely back! However, they aren't just for the beach anymore. You can see people riding them in town, out on the boardwalks, school campuses, bike trails, and of course, they do still ride them on the beach.
The Beach Cruiser Bike has grown in popularity for all ages and in every type of community. You can see entire families out riding their cruisers together, or retired couples taking up bike riding. People are using them for commuting to work or school and instead of taking the car to the coffee shop or to the store, they take their bike. It is definitely the "in thing."
Unlike back in the 1950's, there are many colors and styles to choose from. They come in different sizes too, from young children to older adults. With the wide tires, they are still great for riding on the beach as well as on pavement. The seats are saddle seat design, which means they are wider. Most come with a memory foam type cushion which really adds to the comfort. Another great feature with most of the Beach Cruisers is the frame, forks and rims are made of aluminum, which makes them virtually rust proof, perfect for the beach environment.
Accessories are also available to customize your Beach Cruiser. Choose from different color seats, there is a huge selection of basket liners to personalize your bike with, you can get different type horns or beach ball style ringers, just about anything you can think of. This is about the only style bike that people really go all out to "decorate" to give it their own unique signature.
The Beach Cruisers are meant for semi flat ground, however, there are some that have 3 speed controls which helps in hilly areas. But they are not meant for steep or mountain type of biking.

Fits spare of 2003 CRV
I got this rack after looking at the descriptions of many on-spare racks. The reviews with the specs were favorable. I "tried it on" my 2003 CRV spare and it fits snugly, but watch out for the wiper on your back door. It fits, but you can't just shove the rack on. It takes some care. Removal was easy and folded up compactly.
My Trek 7200 womens bike fits well and I didn't have the bike tire overhang problem from the CRV spare offset because my bikes' fork angles inward toward the car folding it neatly. My daughters 16 inch frame was difficult because I had to balance it in the rear fork and the front. She'll be growing into an 18 in frame soon which should fix this problem.
I didn't take it for a spin yet, but I think for normal driving conditions this will be fine compared to my Trek sedan trunk rack (for my old Neon.). I would recomend it to other CRV owners.

Good Rack for the Price
We bought this rack for our 2003 Honda CRV. The rack itself is very sturdy and fits securely on the spare. We have used it once carrying two kids bikes from Pennsylvania to Virginia (about 200 miles) after Christmas with no issues. Contrary to some other reviews, the straps seemed to hold the bikes securely in place. The only issue is the bikes hang slightly off to the side of the car because the spare is not on the center of the door. Kids bikes hung about 12" past the back of the car; adult bikes could overhang more? Overall, it is a decent bike rack for the value.

we have a 2004 honda crv and were looking for a bike rack to carry 3 bikes. installation is easy and the bikes are very securely attached to the rack. it takes only minutes to install. it did leave small marks on the tire cover when i left it on, so i take off the cover. overall...great product at a great price!

I have had the Allen spare tire bike carrier for two years. It fits my 2000 Honda CRV perfectly and was easy to mount. Unlike some other carriers the Allen carrier is relatively light and does not add a lot of weight on the back door. This is important since any extra weight in addition to the bicycles can cause the door to droop and make it difficult to close when loaded. It is also a breeze to place the bikes on the rack, and since it has two bars they don't wobble around. Of course, some bikes are made a little differently than others and you have to figure out how to best seat each bike in the most secure manner. For security I loop a cable around the part of the spare tire carrier that is welded on the door and then around the bikes themselves. Actually, I have one cable lock permanently locked onto the spare tire mount, and then I take a second cable and loop it through the first cable. This makes the process of securing the bikes much easier. Any problems you may have are addressed VERY promptly by Allen Racks customer service. Good company! Highly recommended.

Can i get a womens huffy cranbrook cruiser bike in the uk?
Hello,
I have just come back from the usa where i have seen in walmart a huffy womens cranbrook cruiser bike and i was wondering can you buy them over here and where from. If not is there any other bike simular to this description? no gears, the brakes are pedaling backwards to stop, the seat is really soft and big for comfort, the handle bars are cowhorns the frame is low for womens like its got a curve. or just a cruiser bike tht matches most of this description.

Try Amazon in the UK. You can do a search for beach cruiser or Cruiser bikes. Most bike shops will sell a version of that bike. It will be liter and better built then the Huffy.
